Random Fail: First World Problems

Order food at work @ 11:45 - Start eating a couple minutes before my shift(12:00). Two minutes into my shift boss notices me and is pissy about me eating on the clock. We're not busy, no tables, and I was almost done. Later on says he isn't going to comp my food. I got livid pissed. You know that pissed where you see red and you about to do some stupid shit?

Yea, I started taking pictures of the disgusting shit around that place to start stockpiling for OSHA as WELL as customer's CC/Exp/Three digit code/Name/Address that they LEAVE OUT FOR ANYONE in the goddamned restaurant to see. Because you know. I'm pretty sure that's a big deal. I'm not going to use them, I was going to go to corporate with it and see how much it sucks on his ass.

Over a fucking meal I was ready to go to war.

Do you live in or near a bad neighborhood? Some delivery places will just refuse to deliver certain neighborhoods because of danger/getting stiffed on deliveries.

Well it is somewhat poorish area (cheapest rent I could find in town) but this is North bay area so still rather expensive and safeish... I mean there's a Whole Foods in the mall across the street from me how much safer can you get? Though my apartment complex is 95% Mexican with families of 5-6 in 1 bedroom apartments so I'd imagine people even poorer than I so I guess they could be worried about being stiffed.

This is a project btw that is often given to 6th and 7th graders (I teach 9th grade), and they are whining it's too hard and too much work. Work, mind you, that if they had actually done the stuff instead of trying to sneak on their phones all period, could be easily completed in class time without needing to do extra homework. Presentations begin Wednesday and I guarantee no more than 70% of the kids will actually be properly prepared.

I feel your pain. I've been on observation/planning mode in my internship and I start actually teaching on Monday, but I've seen the students (8th graders) do the exact same shit. What project? What letter? We had to take that home? You didn't give me one! You didn't say that was for a grade! Wait, what's a study guide? Theme chart!? We have a test today?

Oh yes, it's going to be fun. But despite all that, there are some kids who are amazing students, who I know will do the work, who will write me insightful things, who will simply get it, who will do amazing projects, and who will make all the frustration worthwhile. I'm so excited to start actually teaching.

So go to my favorite burger place and it's packed. It's just a small burger joint but there is about 20 people inside 16 sitting outside and skme people standing around waiting for food/to order. Asked them how long it would take and they assured me 15 minutes at the doneness I wanted if I ordered to go. I almost laughed in her face at the sheer optimism of that and decided to play her game. That was 40 minutes ago so I guess I win and lose.

Of course this is making miss watching that shitty looking zombie movie. Guess I'll watch something good now

Normally it's not quite this busy. Maybe cause the last few days have been the first time in a few weeks where we haven't had off and on rain thru the day. Only reason I stayed is I was seriously craving it and well it is really good (like normally worth a decent wait if not busy though you can order ahead to have it ready anyways) plus I wanted to burst her prediction bubble. She was so apologetic.... though bitch still forgot my onion rings. And that's just unforgivable since they are some of the few onion rings that actually do it for me. Sad I couldn't stay for a milkshake since they are pretty bomb too but would've been too hard to sneak in and I'm not chugging that thing while walking the half a mile from there to the movies lol.

Because that's all it is, a reference. I find mythology fascinating, particularly zoroastrian and sumerian, but that doesn't mean it's the least bit practical and forcing it on people to make them "cultured" is the surest way to kill any interest in it.
