The real first world fail here is the culture of pseudo mandatory tipping and tip policing. Can you just imagine explaining it to someone from a poor country that would be priceless

If you gave a good tip to a server in a third world country they'd probably react like:
Tipping in many non-NA continent countries is totally taboo, but they also pay their servers full wages not some like $2.50 an hour shit.
Right. If they're paid a livable wage then it doesn't matter, but this wasn't the case.
Man, if I was taken out on a date and the other person left less then 15% I'd laugh, hand the server some money, and leave; no need to waste time on a cheapskate. Alas, I'm a male raised by his single mother who also happened to serve on the weekends to make ends meet. So not only was I instilled with the desire to always pay for the female no matter what, but I tip super generously. It always works out though, the females love it, and the servers always remember me and treat me like I'm the second coming of Jesus.
Yep. 20-25%, always. Pays off.
Can't speak for the rest of NA but in the U.S. legally the employer still has to make up any difference between what they earn and the local min wage. They still get the full wage, tips just determine how much comes from you personally or the employer and the potential to make more than that if your employer doesn't pay above min wage.
It's all very circular. We feel we should tip because wages can be so low... but wages can be so low because we tip.
So to another first world problem... why do automated spam calls still exist? Like does anyone actually pick up a call from a random number and hear a recorded voice saying they've been selected by Marriot for a free trip and jump in on it? Also why the hell do the make them so goddamn loud? I think I lost half an eardrum
In other news the area around where I stabbed my hand is starting to get a dull gray/green bruise color.
I knew this month would be hectic money wise. I've got the insurance I'm paying for now, gym fee and annual fee that happens in Feb., two sibling birthdays, and the books/access codes for school. Also the Shari's Berries I got on super sale for myself. I'm not really bitching cause I knew all of this in advance but man spending so much so quickly sucks.![]()
Back to the restaurant and tipping discussing though, everything I spent today I made in 6 hours yesterday. :D
Apparently discussion of tipping is now the new way to get people's jimmies all rustled.
Goddamn it I can't find it, but <insert PC Principle signature>.
I found CS on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/commen...he_played_wow/
Not because the dude's black, but because he's sitting on one of them cheap ass plastic white chairs.
one of the comments, lol: I think the real question is why is there an upside down slice of pizza on his lap?
Holy shit $10 on $130. Funny story. Long time ago a buddy was serving a Joe's Crab Shack while going to school. Had similar tip in regards to %. Family was still in the parking lot and he went out and asked if there was a problem. They told him he was great and they enjoyed their night. He threw the money on the ground and said they needed it more than him. Needless to say he got fired, but tipping like that is some bullshit.
