Random Fail: First World Problems

I've had, on occasion, people take the signed receipt. I'm sure sometimes it's on purpose, sometimes absentmindedness. I'm quick to pick up the book usually and I've literally gone outside to ask them (in a drippingly sweet manner) if they had it because I have to turn it in. (Read: I want my money you fucking bastard.)

Yesterday a party of 6 came in and used multiple credit cards and a $25 gift card. Dude tried to add $11 to that gift card and total it $36. Went outside and asked him for the other receipt and had him add that shit to his credit card. Got my money.

This was circa 2002 so before Waiting. Another story by same guy. Car parked right next to his driver door with only like five or so inches of room to open the door. He gets in his passenger door, grabs a blanket, wraps it the best he can on his door, and repeatedly slams the driver door of his car into the passenger door. Guy was super cool and always seemed happy go lucky, but he'd go off on some weird shit.

Waiting is such a great movie because it nails every personality type that you find in the restaurant staff, it's so damn real to life. You've got the out of touch manager who thinks he's hot shit, the feuding exes, the creepy late 20something trying to fuck the underage hostess, the borderline psychotic kitchen staff, the idealistic "I'm gonna be somebody!" college student, and the haggard mid 40s waitress that's seen it all.

Still Waiting was even a decent movie, as far as straight to DVD sequels go.

It's not an emotional guilt trip game. It's how the system is setup. It's not a good system but that isn't the server's fault. It would be nice if the US had a system like other countries where tips aren't needed but we don't. By giving out shitty tips, you don't actually do anything to fix the problem. You just screw someone else over for the sake of saving some of your own money.

If you can't afford to tip properly, don't eat out.

But you want to use the service they're providing you. You can't fucking ask someone for a service (that you don't want to do yourself) and then shit on them for providing it. People love to shit on people with menial jobs, but those menial jobs help run the things we enjoy. If it wasn't that singular person you're shitting all over who made a "bad choice," it would be someone else. Waiters and waitresses are always going to exist as long as people decide to go out to eat.

If you can't afford to go out to eat and pay the tip price, then you can't afford to go out to eat. It's that simple. You'd have saved money by staying in. You made the choice to go out to eat. Part of that is tipping the person who provides you a service. Don't like it, stay the fuck home and do it yourself. No one is forcing you to go out to eat.

Probably because they don't have 2 different version of the receipts just for people who are doing takeout. I've never once picked up food anywhere like this and had them expect me to tip for that.

Seriously the level of first problemness of this is astronomical. First not only expecting extra pay for jobs but then trying to dictate how much others should pay. And then shitting on people for having a problem with after paying for a service being expected to then pay more for said service regardless of how shitty it is. Well if y'all such money bags then go ahead and leave an extra tip

Should be noted that I do tip out of convention or actual good service. But that doesn't change the fact that the entire concept is fucking retarded and reeks with sense of entitlement and is just a sneaky way some jobs use to get you to pay their employees wages instead of them.
