So does Safeway but they have a bike rack and it's a nice walk.

Really though it was more of a what changed? Like is it a new need for it, public trans situation changed, don't want to keep bumming rides, got tired of the inconvenience or just a well everyone else does it it's the "adult" thing to do... Might really need it or it might just be nice now and then but end up costing more than the workarounds.
Used to live in Ohio, I lived in college town for a while after I got my degree and restricted myself to jobs I could walk to. Unfortunately that pretty much equalled shitty retail/grocery store jobs, and it was horrible in winter there considering the past 2 Ohio winters have been subzero temperatures for a couple months of it. (Of course because I left this winter has been extremely mild with most temps in the 40s-50s).

Moved to Vegas 6 months ago, decided to join the grown-ups and get my license because it's pretty much impossible to get a job here without a car. Nothing is close to where I'm living and I don't want to be restricted to only jobs close to me.

I thought about biking and honestly I wouldn't mind doing that if I do find a workplace that's close enough to my house but I would need to spend some time building up to it as I haven't biked for years and whatever I get is likely to be several miles away at least.

Biking isn't hard even if you haven't for awhile...I started out again after years of not a couple years back. A little sore but took it easy for a bit.

But for actual every day commutes remember it's not about being able to make the ride but do so easily even when you aren't feeling your best. I do 5.2 miles and when I'm feeling good it's nothing I can probably get home as fast as driving thanks to less traffic/better routes (in fact just yesterday I saw a truck go 1 way and then 2 miles later it passed me) and feel like doing more. On the other hand when I wake up after a night of no sleep and feel like crap I dread it to the point of wanting to call in. And actual riding time increases by a good 50-70%... though plus side the exercise really wakes you up and makes you feel better... or makes you feel like dying. Also biking in 100+ kind of gets pretty not fun after you start getting well and warmed up. I'd probably never want to ride much more than I currently do then.

I think I'd rather have people. Cook up a slice of thigh or ribs... this powder smell is horrendous. Maybe I did it wrong. Water + Powder and shake weighted the bitch. All my hopes and dreams were crushed and now I'mma have to find a way to tolerate downing this.

Edit: I stomached half a glass before giving up. I do feel full, though - or like if I eat or drink anything else I will throw up.
Edit 2: Going to try blending next bag, and blending with bananas.

So I went to the ER like two years ago with a 104 fever for 4 days that wouldn't break, and when I got there the only thing that they had to break it quickly with was children's motrin. It's an orange ish liquid that's in 100 milligram syringes taken by mouth. I had to take 800 milligrams. The first one or two were okay, after that it was like feeding a baby bird. The nurse let me do it to myself which I don't know if was worse or better.

Honestly I think people could taste good... but they'd probably make the affordable stuff out of poor people so it'd probably taste bad unless you spent more

I hear some peanut butter with it works good too. Plus gives you a little extra protein since they tend to be a bit light on it

So just got done doing my fastest ride home in several months. In fact think it's my 2nd fastest since I started doing this route 2.5 years ago. Part of that has been just feeling tired and didn't feel like pushing it or cold keeping me stiff and part of it has been a few months ago I replaced my last original tube with a thicker one and 2 months ago replaced my tires with thicker ones cause I kept getting glass stuck in them and that would eventually even destroy my thicker tubes.

Anyways did a great time despite some obstacles it's a nice sunny day this should be a win right? Nope get home for my shower and the waters off. Technically I was "informed" of this except of course they told me it would only be in the early afternoon and would take place 2 days ago. So now I'm sitting here all hot in sweaty no idea when water will come back in an apartment that got rather hot during the day. And I'm starting to get light headed already woot.

Not doing it wrong it's that horrible. My Facebook friend did it a few days and never heard about it since lol. I don't see the draw.

I do however love ISOPURE protein powder but it started making me sick recently

And the waters back... and somehow I have no warm water which confuses me since I have a hot water tank so it should've still had some in it I'd think. Oh well went from super overheated to pretty cooled off in no seconds flat

Tornado Armageddon supposedly coming thru my neck of the woods around 1am tonight. All the schools are closed tomorrow. I'm not really concerned with my personal safety but I am worried about a tree falling on my truck and my dog freaking out all night.

Parents today are the worst. They are either absentee or hyper-protective helicopters. It's why I prefer tutoring to teaching these days: the parents I'm involved with care about their kids performance and improvement, and as long as the kid's grades improve (or hold steady, in the case of the 4.0s who seek tutors, anyway), my interaction is basically "here's my invoice" "Thanks for the check; see you next week." I don't get blamed for their kid screwing up anywhere near as much as teachers do.

This parent was really understanding. She communicates with my cooperating teacher regularly so she's well aware that her kid has behavior issues. But I have seen the absentee parent thing as well. We had a conference last week that the parent never showed up to.

There are some cases I get absentee parents, particularly single moms with deadbeat ex-husbands/baby-daddies.... It's the helicopter, "MY KID CANNOT DO ANYTHING WRONG!" parents that made me abandon teaching; did student teaching, then when I was finishing my degree there was a closing of several schools in the state, and I just haven't pursued it since. I still deal with them in other aspects, but in none of those am I worried about my job, so whatever.

I haven't experienced any of those - at least not yet. I'd like to teach in Title I schools (basically, low performing schools, low SES families) so I expect that I won't run into the helicopters nearly as much as the absentee parents. But I'll just be looking for a job at graduation and going wherever I can, so we'll see.
