I always had great luck with DirecTV customer service and the service itself. I have Comcast now and the guide makes me want to stab a baby.

If it's a choice between dish or direct TV, get directtv. There dvr service isn't bad at all, but satellite TV in itself is a pain. Less of a problem if you live in a state with decent weather, but in the frequent Florida rains it's a hassle.

Yea, weather here is good, but it looks like both Dish and direct TV want two year contracts. With the wife and I looking at buying a house and the potential of a HOA not allowing dishes, I don't want to get tied down. May have to look into a Hulu + subscription.

My PS3 got the YLOD yesterday.... it seems it is impossible to find a non-bundled version for sale anywhere to replace it.

Needed to pay my car insurance bill in a hurry, so I called the number on the bill that was labeled as "other billing options available by calling;"
I call and get three automated options; 1 to File a Claim, 2 for Policy Services, 3 to speak to someone.
I pick 2. Puts me on hold for 10 minutes and I get a live person. I tell her I want to pay my bill and she's like "okay, let me transfer you." I get put on hold for another 5-10min and a dude answers. I tell him I want to pay my bill and the dude says "okay, let me transfer you to Policy Services." he puts me on hold before I can ask wtf.
Another 5-10min another guy answers and he lets me pay my bill.

define non-bundled? the uncharted 3 ps3 for $269.99? thats the base model one, you arent paying for the game thats in it. its just a bonus. it'd be $269 even without it.

Over an hour long commute this morning because someone decided to clip the bumper of a city bus on the freeway. It was non-injury and the only damage was cosmetic damage to both bumpers. Both the bus and the other driver decided it was a good idea to block 2 lanes of traffic for an hour because they were too dense to drive the vehicles to the shoulder and exchange information. If only it were illegal here to impede traffic over a fender-bender.

This kind of shit happens here all the time. Because people travel across the bay so much you're really fucked if there's an accident on one of the bridges because there's absolutely nowhere else to go if this happens. It's 99% of the reason why I moved to this side of the bay since I started working over here.
