So, my back pain has come back full force. I decided to call my Pain clinic to book an earlier appointment to hopefully get/do something that would help. This is how the phone call went.
Me>Hi, It's Randy McIntyre, I have an appointment on April 24th. I'm calling to ask if there is anyway I could be seen sooner, my back has been so much worse lately.
Them>Actually, we had to move your appointment to April 29th, Doctor Baker(My pain doc) is out of town till then.
Me> Well, can anyone else see me, I'm in extreme pain.
Them>No, there is no other doctor here to see you.
Me>So, I have to live in severe pain for the next month.
Them> Yep
And then I hung up in a fit of rage. I fucking hate this city and all it's doctors.
How feasible is it to move, or at least find a new specialist? I don't remember where exactly you're at. I've never had problems like that. Even if all my doctors are out of town or whatever, there's almost always a CNP there to take care of stuff if I need it. And even when there's not, the RNs will go out of their way to find some way to help me. But that's Mayo's main campus, and their cup overfloweth with staff.
After my transplant, I had some issues with Tylenol 3s, had seizures, broke my back in my T6 and T7. They ended up putting liquid bone cement into the fractures because it wasn't healing on it's own. Ever since I've had constant pain in my back between my shoulder blades. A few months ago they did some freezing into the nerves in order to stop the pain. It didn't work at all so they did another one. That one didn't work either. They didn't even really try to find the pain areas, was more of exploratory stabbing my nerves and seeing what works. The pain is back now, I have no pain killers, I have school at 730 am which I barely get any sleep for and sitting for 8 hours a day is making it worse and worse.
I have gone to walk in Clinics in hopes of finding someone who cares, they just tell me that the Pain clinic I go to has things covered. I went to a my moms family doctor yesterday and he did more of an examination of my back than Pain Clinic has in two years. He told me that he thinks it's Phantom Pain because my lungs were removed and the nerves attached to them are missing the old lungs. He prescribed a med that would take a month to even get some minor pain relief that I can't get till Monday.
I'm just tired and sick of the bullshit I'm getting in life. My school issues are just as bad too, my Art teacher forced me to drop the class because she won't let me make up the work I missed because of the recovery days I had to take from having my back frozen.
They get sore a lot and I feel slow all the time but never any pain.
My friend got his hands on a "forgotten" iphone 4 at work...he asked me to format it so he can use it...and what ensues is the very reason I never EVER EVER EVER will do tech support, and despite how I may act here at times, I'm known to have impeccable unbreakable patience.
How did the reformatting go?
Its fine, factory settings, you can set it up
Everything is good
Should be
Did you check?
I cant, the phone needs to be set up. I cant go in without registering name n shit. It should be blank though.
Meaning the phone wont turn on?
Its on, I cant go in it, its blank, its a "new phone"
Meaning I just need a sim card?
It wants to be set up as a new phone, I cant go in it. If I plug it in to my PC, it says it needs to be set up before it does anything.
So the phone is fucked?
No. It has to be setup. Configured. Thats your job.
As in what does it need, a name or something etc?
I dont know, I'm not going through the setup screens
Ok, I'll go through it later. Did you do the same for your phone?
When I got it, yes
What you enter though? Anything I should know cuz I'm sending it (to my gf) so should I get any info from her?
Send it to her as is. I really dont know, I had my phone for 2 yrs or so, I dont remember that far back.
Bold is me. I dont know how tech support people do it...rather, I dont know how tech support people who know their head from their ass do their job. I know theres plenty of tech support people who have no fucking clue what theyre doing.
I've always wondered if it was "phantom pain", too. Not to belittle what you are feeling or anything, but it seems tricky. I am hoping those meds you will get will help with it regardless, though. The mind is a trickybitch.
Let's try that house solution! Now, how would that work with chest/back instead of an arm... Hmmm.
Does this count?

Due to an alarming number of injuries and fatalities in car accidents in China, which stemmed mostly from drivers not wearing their seatbelts, the police are being more attentive in ensuring that all motorists wear their seatbelts when driving. As if on cue, the “belt t-shirt” came out.
The shirt in question is a white t-shirt with a black “strap” running diagonally down the chest, in hopes that police officers will confuse it with a real seatbelt.

Fengxian Xue, spokesman for the Shanghai Public Security Bureau Traffic Police Detachment, said that while all drivers are required to wear safety belts, wearing this apparel is not prohibited by law. But drivers do still need to wear their seatbelts.
It is not surprising that at a price of only 35 to 50 RMB (US$5.5-$8), there are already a number of individuals coveting this deceiving clothing.
Some are hopeful that by wearing this shirt they will save themselves from having to pay the fine affixed to safety belt rule infraction.
Buckling up when driving is strictly implemented in China, and those who will violate this rule have to pay 50 RMB per infraction. Two points will also be deducted from the ceiling of 12 of one’s driver’s license.
According to the spokesman of the Heilongjiang Traffic Police Detachment, if it’s just for the purpose of entertainment, he thinks there is no reason to forbid anyone from wearing the belt shirt. What is wrong with using the seat belt shirt?
Would you wear a shirt like this?
From seeing how traffic works in China and the rest of Asia I would want a five- or six-point harness at all times. Preferably an ejection seat as well.
I'd want a tank.
Worked 7 hours of OT last evening on my day off, from 7PM until 2AM, doing tech support. Someone had scheduled vacation, and management chose not to have someone cover the shift. The only other person working saw that someone was on vacation, and called in sick. As a result, the higher level guy saw this, and realized he would have to talk to customers, and promptly called in sick as well. Started my normal shift at 8AM.
Start work, and get trapped in an issue where the customer had called in 4 times previously, the issue was escalated. Also e-mailed us twice. No one got back to her. I start helping her on the issue, going over things, and ask "This is an issue that was escalated to the senior techs, is anyone available to take it?" "Did you try and fix it?" (to be fair, my first response to this was "No, I just looked at it and got demoralized and gave up."), to which I let them know I was working on it now, with the help of a senior technician. Senior technician had technical problems, and passed me to another senior technician. Senior Technician #2 was equally baffled (because our hardware and software kinda blows). Manager becomes involved now, and tells me to pass it off to Senior Technician #2, so I can answer other customers. Senior Technician #2 tells me Manager can go suck a dick (exact words), and he's got far more critical issues he's working on (which in reality, is very true). Manager doesn't want to talk to Senior Technician #2, Senior Technician #2 doesn't want to talk to Manager, customer is yelling in my ear about us not calling them back and fixing her problem taking too long. Manager goes to talk to me after, letting me know all the things done wrong in his mind.
Another average day at work.
[Addendum] Same manager has now asked me to do more overtime, until 2AM, when my shift starts at 8AMDefinitely another average day. At least it's OT >_>
Wow, and this is the shit I'll have to look forward to sooner than later.
To be fair, most technical support jobs on the base level are a lot easier than this. There is so many different hardware versions, software versions, different pieces of hardware being mixed and matched, and like 800 different issues and bugs on our end that haven't been fixed in years, etc. Internet tech support way easier... But pays less![]()
I have to poop, but somethings wrong in my area and theres no water
I dont want a stinker lingering in my toilet
