Milk is fine in gravy or sauces where it is disguised. Generally I don't eat cereal or I eat it dry or with almond milk. Cows milk tastes like pennies in my mouth. Goats milk isn't as bad though so my feelings towards milk is more specifically cows milk.

FFS. Customer pulled a fast one on me. Total was $133. They write a check leaving the numerical part blank and write One Hundred & Thirty Three Cents. Which since no one actually spells out the number of cents and because 99.9% of our stuff comes out to even dollar amounts I didn't even notice till later.

Write in the correct dollar amount in the numerical part then the bank will bounce the check back for the written part and the numerical part not matching. Then the bank will notify the customer.

If they gave you a check doesn't it have their personal information on it?

I could but I'm pretty sure the boss would tell me just to take it if I asked and royally chew me out if I just did what you said. Also from what I've seen when something doesn't match when we turn in a bunch of checks they just tell us something is wrong and hand us the deposit slip and checks back without really saying what was wrong

Hmm I guess I am not seeing the issue then. If you are a legit business and you accept checks and this customer didn't give you a fake check then you should have recourse to go after them for writing the check wrong.

Boss man is a small local business owner who 99% of the time is basically the text book walking definition of overly nice guy. This ends up causing no small amount of frustration on my part because in cases like this he will just let customers have it when they write wrong amounts. Or schedule customers who call in after hours the day before etc.

Also our bank is kind of retarded and from what I've seen tends to assume any problems with deposits are with us and just hands us everything back letting us figure out which things were wrong <.<. Which is great fun when you deposit a couple hundred checks at once. Needless to say we are switching banks

Great success though I managed to catch the boss in a less forgiving mood and/or I pitched the customers apparent duplicity better than usual so he wrote in the right amount himself

For future reference though in my experience banks will never help you out or tell you what is wrong if a check gets returned and the check isn't theirs. You always have to go through the issuing bank.

The check will say what bank it is for on it and you can call that bank and give them the account and routing number on the check and then report a problem or whatever you need to do.

Oh the problem with them isn't so much as they aren't telling us what is wrong with a particular check. Figuring out what is wrong with a check is usually pretty easy. The problem is they wont tell us which check it is or even if it is a check and not the cash part of the deposit that's messed up. Hell they wont even return the deposit slip for us to check lol

Oh dear god yes it is. No amount of cream makes that shit taste good. I've drank the stuff willingly 3 times. Once was in the middle of an 18 hour shift that was only supposed to be 12 hours (retarded boss didn't schedule someone to cover a vacation and then asked if i'd cover it 14 hours in), and twice after working Urban Shield that involved working back to back 5pm to 5am shifts, with after the second one, getting 5 hours sleep, having to go to work the next day, then feeling obligated to mingle at the hot wash the following night. Stuff tastes like liquid charred burned death to me.

Found out today they are not renewing the 11th grade English teacher's contract for next year, and they asked me if I would take over the 11th grade. ugh. Zero desire to. As is, I like middle school, and 9th is my limit on what age I'd like to teach. I have to be flexible though considering how easily they seem to get rid of people here. So I said to try and find someone who would be a good fit for the school and see if that fit is 11th, if not I'll do it.






I really really really don't want to teach 11th grade though lol. Especially since next year I have to go through a program to have my certificate not expire. When you first get your teaching cert in Cali, you have 5 years in which to get a teaching job or it expires. Once you get the job, you have to take classes and do a massive report on a lesson with video recording. If you pass your certificate is permanent. Teaching 11th grade would mean having to restart on a creating a new curriculum while doing the cert program.

No thanks. ;_;

The only bonus to this it means a. I have a job next year and b. They like me enough that they want me to move up to a higher grade level in the process.
