The consensus is the material differentiates between jacket and hoodie and not the fact that it has a zipper. It has been accepted. Thank you for your participation in correcting a woman's wrong and empowering a male member of your own forum.

    (fuck you guys)

Edit: FUCK YEA GOT 1 ON MY TEAM

Edit 2: Also, I really think growing up in a warm place - and for the most of my life living in warm places - has me skewed on this. Florida jackets are what my first picture-post was.

Are you guys really trying to tell me that Trayvon was just a zipper away from not getting shot?

I don't buy it. If it has a hood and it's made of t-shirt-ish material (fuzzy lining or not), it's a hoodie.

I'm glad I'm on the right side of BG on this one. Definitely a hoodie. I'd even go so far as to say that it looks like a fleece hoodie, but definitely a hoodie.

The ones without zippers I typically refer to as hooded sweatshirts, and only because they annoy me and generally fuck up my hair and glasses in the process so they need to be distinguishable from hoodies.

I used to hate zippered hoodies and only wore pull over hoodies but now that I wear glasses I am moving towards preferring the zippered hoodies. That way I don't have to take my glasses off to take the hoodie off.

Job hunting absolutely sucks balls. I thought with my level of experience I wouldn't have an issue finding something in a similar field but it almost seems like I'm too specialized in the type of work I do. Seems like there isn't that much work available in my field and when it is, they tend to want something that I don't have but could easily do. I know how the recruiting process works though, if you have a no for a certain requirement they are likely trashing your application without even reading the resume at the level I want.

At least I have the advantage of still being in a job but I just want out of my current workplace so bad. I just feel bitter towards them at this point which is sad after spending my entire career with the company.

Put me in the "not a hoodie" camp. I agree that a zipper that opens all the way is the difference. A hoodie needs to be pulled over the head.

I've read somewhere that you should apply anyway, as it shows confidence. Sure, some of them might trash your resume/application, but it doesn't hurt to give it a shot. You really don't have anything to lose but time.

It was a long time ago so I can't remember where I read this, and this is probably common knowledge, but most businesses use a system looking for key words before calling for an interview. There was a study done where resumes were sent out with very specific words but nothing of any other importance and they would get calls for the interview.

About being too specialized, I can't relate to that personally but I always wondered why I would never get called for a part time job for Blockbuster (2003-2005). At the store I used to rent from I was real cool with all the workers. One day there is a new guy with like, six different colors of hair, tons of face piercings, and did not talk professional at all. Now before anyone gets upset, I am of the opinion that looks should not matter as long as the person is qualified for the job. I asked one of the managers, "How did you get that guy but I can't even get an interview?" Was told he had customer service as a previous job and the only thing on my resume at the time was restaurants, shop work, and working as a service writer. If I had put service sales I probably would've received a call.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

Hoodie is cause its chilly out or you wanna wear shorts but not a short sleeve. You wear hoodies when the sun is out or its just cloudy.

definitely a hoodie. there's lots of varieties of hoodies but they're all still hoodies.

Right there with you. I work as a business consultant for a fortune 50 company and I can't get a call back to save my life. It's just tough out there. Even if you use all the little "tricks" people mention.

Just got back from running to the store. Leak in the ceiling of our storage closet in the garage again. Go up to the apartment to let them know they may have a leak, tell me they will let the manager know tomorrow. Told them they need to check it now and I already notified the manager and they are on their way. Who the fuck gets warned of a water leak and say they'll look into it tomorrow.

I made the same move recently as well, but had nothing to do with glasses. The pullovers were comfortable, but the zipper hoodies let you show off the t-shirt game (which helps when trying to match sneakers to clothing).
