    More hoodie talk:

I like pullover hoodies for sleeping in and bumming it to school in especially if they are oversized. Fit zipper hoodies for everything else.

Random fail: I did recently lose all my hoodies because I forgot to grab them from the dryer when I was doing laundry. No hoodies for me currently. lol

I have a tiny little cut right on the tip of my right thumb. It's fucking irritating to do anything now, including use a mouse. The worst part is, the spot it's at interferes with the touch unlock on my phone so now I have to swipe to the side and enter my PIN until the cut heals.

Hire someone. If you're above a certain level, your success rate using a recruiting firm or staffing firm will be much higher.

Hmm I didn't even think about the benefit for showing off your cool tshirts. Yesterday I wore one of my favorite shirts but it was cold all day so I wore my hoodie over it (pull over) so I didn't get to enjoy my shirt. I was sad at the end of the day when it went into the laundry hamper.

If you didn't stink it up, just wear it again. Nobody but us will know anyway.

Since we're on the job topic, what's the feeling on linked-in headhunters/recruiters? anyone utilized one?

Depends on your industry and level. I've had friends get poached via LinkedIn as well as via recruiting firms. These are usually finance-based although high-end retailers looking for quality sales people use it a shitload as well.

Make sure you're using Indeed, LinkedIn, Glassdoor and every possible avenue to make sure you're getting the right value for yourself and maximize potential jobs.

Big 4 accounting firm, 2 years in. They are usually offers to do the same work I'm doing now but in industry, problem being I don't want to do what I do now. I received one that was actually intriguing - I guess the real question is are these recruiters just trying to fill these positions asap for a commission or do they have incentive to make a good hire (i.e. bonus if the employee is at the company for more than 6 months)

Thanks for the tip, never used Indeed before

Here is a work fail to stay on topic:

Some manager accidentally sent out an email to the entire company worldwide - it's nothing sensitive so no big deal. 20 mins later he followed up saying it was a mistake, please ignore.

There have now been 10 replies within the past 5 minutes of people saying some variation of "Hey I work in Milwaukee, I don't think this is for me" - "Same, I'm in Florida I don't think this is for me, please remove" ...people are dumb

My buddy works over there now doing some forecasting for them. They are making some serious cash these days.

Recruiters are definitely working on commission but they are also VERY highly reputation-based. They won't just fill a job especially at a mid-high level position. If the candidate bombs, it's on them. YMMV with that depending on the firm of course. Using your own judgment works things out most of the time.

I hate those mass emails that people reply all to.

As a contractor in NYC, we have to call in work locations so utility companies can mark out the locations of their various facilities (building feeds, cable runs, feeders, etc.). To do this you register an email and phone number with them..

Every once in a while they'll send out system wide tests and newsletters to which people decide they need to "Reply All" to. Then you get the people replying to all saying to stop replying to all. By the end of the day I have 200 useless emails because of it.

Ok that's what I was looking for, makes sense. Thanks.

Yeah of course these people are also replying all (to the entire firm) to let one guy know that they need to be removed from his gmail list.

Yeah, there was a debacle at NYU where they didn't BCC the ENTIRE school on an email. I got 2500 emails in 35 minutes. Had to block all of @nyu.edu for a few days.
