Here is a work fail to stay on topic:

Some manager accidentally sent out an email to the entire company worldwide - it's nothing sensitive so no big deal. 20 mins later he followed up saying it was a mistake, please ignore.

There have now been 10 replies within the past 5 minutes of people saying some variation of "Hey I work in Milwaukee, I don't think this is for me" - "Same, I'm in Florida I don't think this is for me, please remove" ...people are dumb

I saw this happen at my old job. Company had ~10k employees world wide. Company sent out a newsletter to the entire company and forgot to bcc. One dude did a reply to all on accident then it started a shitstorm of people replying to all to tell him to not reply to all. Ended up with people standing up in the office yelling out loud to tell people to stop. Thousands of emails within a matter of minutes went out.

The original guy tried to redact his email and it completely crashed the entire email system. We had no email for the rest of the day. It was hilarious.

I worked at EA when the I Love You virus hit. Despite e-mail warning from IT and signs literally every 10 feet saying don't open that fucking e-mail, so many people opened it they had to take the entire network down. Working tech support that day sucked as we didn't have access to our database with all the solutions to major bugs with each game, plus we had to handwrite down (or save in word/notepad/etc) every customers information, the game they called about, the issue, and solution so when they brought the network back up the following day, we could go and re-enter the information. and to add insult to injury, we had a major release the week prior, so our overall call volume was up significantly.

About 2 months ago when I signed up for my commuter bus pass some random email survey went out to everyone on accident to everyone registered on the site. I seriously had about 150 reply all responses to "remove me" it was ridiculous. Also the fact that 3/4 of the signatures were from high end management positions made it that much worse. How are you people that fucking stupid.

Finally had to sign up for health insurance a couple months back... and while both covered California and the insurer have sent plenty of brochures, cards and plain old junk mail both in regular mail and email no one has thought to send a bill after my initial payment. Now I gotta do even more work to find where to pay for something I didn't want. Thanks Obama

Because even though it's in the book (where we sign off on shift trades) I'm not going to even let there be a slim chance of being fired over this. But yea, thanks. They're not stupid. They just aren't good at organizing their thoughts yet, which is something we are teaching them to do, hence, essay writing. Some of them have improved just in the time I've been here.

As one who grew up in Florida and specifically the Tampa area , he has a fucking point. Even back when I was there it was piss poor at best and though there's always individuals who take to things naturally, they are usually the ones who suffer from the masses honestly. This isn't a dig from me on you specifically Akys , just the overall education system itself is a joke.

I also feel that technology has severely hindered the upcoming generations with Google , autocorrect and lack of basic comprehension especially in regards to English and literature.

Unless you get a cushy gig I doubt you'll see much improvement over the years.

The fuck..I missed this in my initial reply but that's an excuse. I was writing essays in school at 3rd grade and up , even in our ghetto area most had a solid grasp on the concept well before middle school. They should be well past "getting there" , Thus makes my head hurt.
