You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

Sickly is unattractive and undesirable. Also, 2/3 radiated immaturity and couldn't find a lab willing to take them (and thus left without a degree), while the third switched programs and stopped dying her hair.

Girls that look good with unnatural hair colors looked good to start with. Picking a strange hair color (and somehow avoiding it looking dry) just makes them stand out.
Girls that don't look good to start with won't start looking good with an unnatural hair color. They'll just stand out.
This is very true, and I think it must be home-dying kits that are doing it. I used to get blond highlights in my hair from my favorite salon. The dressers would insist the type of dye professionals uses actually helps hair fill in it's cracks. I believe it, because whenever I got the highlights, that hair would be softer than the non-dyed parts. So home-dyed is my only conclusion as to those I constantly see with that dried out frizzy look.

Since we're on the topic of appearance for jobs, gonna steal a quick question.

Dark blue, light blue (not pastel, just reasonable), or grey for interview suit. Academic/Industry position.

Need to get one today since I only have black suits because when you interview for pure academic positions you throw on some pants and some tie and go.

What it is (generally) is that if you have dark hair and want some color that is darker than like...a darkish red...your ass is gonna need some fucking peroxide. Like if you have dark brown hair and want to put in a light purple or something, unless you get your hair down past the point where there's still reddishness in it, it's going to look like absolute shit. This means that unless you A) know what you're doing or B) are having it done professionally, you're gonna overbleach the fuck out of your hair and ruin it. Even having it professionally done you have balance using special conditioner / shampoo with washing your hair less than you're used to or you're going to fuck the color AND have shitty hair - which is where most people who dye their hair end up.

Also why people who start from like a light to dirty blonde and asians (very fine hair) usually can get away dyes easier without looking like something off fraggle rock. Both need far less bleaching to prep for the dye to take.

When I was waaaay younger I used to constantly fuck with my extremely thick and dark hair. I learned p. quick how it all works once I started dating girls who did hair and weren't tards.

Judging people for appearance is fucking stupid and the world needs less of it. The only reason they have a stigma is because people got some stupid sense of superiority over others and exploited it, because it has literally no bearing over anything but a personal preference based on societal norms.
I think you're putting the cart before the horse in regards to what people think about tattoos ect.

Tattoo and hair Color don't usually matter if you come in professional and can answer the questions. And u can fit the culture of the company.

Seems the ones that do complain are shitty applicants, and use the tattoo/color as an excuse.

I disagree. If you're in a super competitive job market where ridiculously Type A people compete for a handful of jobs, everything that makes you unique either makes you better or worse. Weird hair color doesn't make you better, so it makes you worse.

If a company is willing to risk a potential applicant after spending hours on interviews that has limited applicants. You have to wonder about the companies hiring process.

This isn't a wrong statement, but the perspective is wrong I think.

The job market is very competitive. Companies may end up burning some cash on turning away applicants who made it a certain distance, but they have more than enough excess funds / time / energy already factored into the whole hiring process such that it really isn't ever gonna be a problem for them. Conversely, since the job market is competitive, if the interviewee chooses to take a stand on tattoo / hair color / etc and say "you either hire me for me or you don't", that's fine, that's entirely their choice. But most people don't have enough job prospects just waiting for them, so the risk is pretty much 100% on the side of the person being interviewed.

And this whole time, I've been arguing that it shouldn't be that way. We all know that piercings and tattoos don't affect a person's ability to do their job but for some reason, there's still this perception out there that it makes someone a poorer employee. That needs to change.

Unfortunately in the interview process they don't have a lot to go from so will run with what they have.

When I go for interviews I fully intend to wear my glasses despite never wearing them normally, purely because I think it will make me look more favorable for the job.

Implying only the dyed-haired person was stellar.

Reality is, no matter how good you think you are, there are at least 5 other people just as good as you who are also getting interviewed. So say you got two people who have the same background, and look to have the same capabilities, where do you go from there? You pick the person who made the effort to dress up for the job, not the one who looked like they just rolled out of bed and put on a suit.

Job interviews are about giving the interviewer the least possible things to discriminate against you with. Or, at least giving them things that are usually positive discriminations. Even something like saying you have kids can lose you a position.

Real talk. The people who get interviews are almost always sufficiently/equally qualified for the job on paper. The interview process just lets the company check the applicant's personality and compatibility with the company (aka find out whether they want to work with you).

Agree with that. Whenever I've done interviews, I hardly ever picked the best qualified for the job. They always had to be able to do the job but it was mainly about if they would fit in within my department. I rejected multiple people that were easily the best on paper for the job because I didn't buy in on their attitude.

Hell, one of the people I hired I plucked straight from the recruitment rejection pile because I was dissatisfied with the candidates they supplied me. Admittedly I protected him a bit early on but he's now one of the regional managers for the company earning quadruple the wage he earned at his previous employer.

Granted I never discriminated based on appearance but a lot of interviewers will. Doesn't make it right but it 100% happens.

Tattoos/piercings signal that you would make a poorer employee in general than someone without (I don't know or care if this is true or not but I wouldn't be suprised if it was tbh)

It's all circular. Tattoos/piercing doesn't affect job ability, but is frowned on because of perception--->person has a tattoo/piercing despite knowing this widespread perception--->person probably makes bad decisions--->less likely to hire person because of poor decision making skills--->perception continues unabridged.

What on the actual fuck kind of 4chan logic is this? State something as fact and then say "not sure if it's true but it seems true to me so is probably true"

Personality that fits the culture of the company. I would like to think a tattoo/ piercing isn't the first thing that is considered. More importantly what comes out of there mouth.

    Guess skin color matters too.
