When we were looking for a house we went to one area that had an HOA. The HOA demanded that they have a representative present to meet us. Dude was really arrogant and was basically conducting an interview with us. He clammed up pretty quick when I started pointing out all the flaws that as a new member of the HOA, I would expect them to address before we even moved in(peeling fence on the neighbor's property, weeds everywhere, curb repair, etc.) He replied that he didn't think they could take care of the issues. My response was why would I bother joining a HOA that is incapable of keeping my property value high. Left after that. My only personal experience with an HOA.

Major FWP here. Phone contract is up. Can't decide which phone to buy. HTC 10 or Galaxy S7 Edge. Edge looks legit as fuck, that curved glass, oooh baby. I am legit afraid of that thing and how fragile it is though. HTC 10 better software and metal design. Goddamn. Decisions.

My HTC m8 I love, but some design decisions that I'd look into before buying another one. The volume rocker buttons were one long piece that bent in the middle after a drop. Didn't affect function, but it's there. Also, the protection over the camera was a cheap plastic that cracked, and to fix it you'd have to take apart the phone from front to back because they didn't design the phone to be taken apart.

Other than that though I love it. The stereo sound is also a big plus.

If you get an S7 edge thru a US carrier (the snapdragon version) you can't root it.

That said as someone who has rooted every other phone they've owned, it hasn't bothered me. Ad blocking thru a browser plug in and every is gtg. Phone is all around fantastic outside of a slightly subpar audio chip (but i use a modded iPod for portable music anyways)

skip the Edge, get the S7. Buddy has one, it's baller. Unless they changed something major in their philosophy since the S6, it's the same phone as the Edge, just doesn't have the gimmick that gives the Edge it's name. And you can put a real case on it.

I looked at an Edge when I got my S6. I can't imagine ever actually using the gimmick, though, so I skipped it. Very happy with my choice.

S7 edge is bigger them the normal version, and has a substantially larger battery. I never use the edge gimmicks as is, just wanted the larger screen and battery.

I was under a similar predicament a few days ago and opted to go with the LG G5 over the edge. Samsungs are just much more likely to have issues than LG or HTC in my experience.

I hesitantly bought the s7 but I'm so glad I did. I'm not a huge photo taker, but that low light camera is incredible. Very nice phone all around. And while Krandor is right about the edge having a bigger battery, I've been on my s7 mostly all day with heavy Youtube usage, and I still rarely end the day below 30% charge.

Wow, glad to see I wasn't the only one with that problem lol. Yeah, the only reason I'd get the Edge is the larger battery. Thing has like a 3700 mah.

I currently have a m8. I really do love it, and I like the idea of of an even less bloated phone. Huge upgrade on the camera either way as the m8 only has a 4mp front/rear. The speakers aren't a make or break for me. Samsung has some sorta deal if you buy it online, you instantly save $120, making it $500 over 24 months versus $630 or whatever. It's $21/month. The S7 edge would be $31/month. I mean I don't really care anyway, it's nothing. Sprint lets you try out phone for 30 days too. I might try them both and see which I like better. From what I've been reading, they're pretty much equal is most things aside from your aesthetic choice and the screen/battery.

Wow, is that deal with new lines only or can I just buy the phone through them? My phone got cracked a couple weeks ago but I can't decide if I want to spend over 200 to fix the screen, camera, etc or just buy an updated phone.

I'm not 100% When I login, it tells me I'm eligible for an upgrade. It takes me to the phone page then shows the HTC10 with $120 off then the S7/edge with some sort of $200 trade in thing. And honestly, I would probably just get a new one if I were you. Not sure what you have, but my phone (m8) lost all it's value. Even mint condition on ebay it's like $75. Not worth it. Are you leasing or is it yours? (I have Sprint btw)

It's mine, from att, and yeah the cost to replace the level of damage from gravity makes me just want new hardware. I'm gonna have to look into it, I like my HTC bells and whistles, but 21$ a month for a new phone is a p.good deal for a new gpu/screen.

Said fuck it and went with the HTC 10. Don't see the point in the Edge (aside from the battery) if the main attraction is the aesthetic, but you immediately need to slap a case on it over fear it it shattering. Would rather the functionality. Still a MAJOR upgrade from the HTC m8. I have 14 days to change my mind, but it's about $200 cheaper than the Edge as well.

The S7 edge also has liquid cooling, better water resistance (iirc), and I think better screen.

Dunno if that was mentioned.

I have a s6 edge that I have in a obliq case and I drop it constantly. Straight to pavement all the time from the fire truck, the other day a good 8feet between floating stairs to tile. Still in perfect condition. Looking to get me and her nexus 6ps before we leave for Paris but shit this thing has been a tank I drop it 5x as much as any phone I ever had. Normally I'm super careful, keep shit in perfect condition to resell on ebay, but I throw this thing from mountains every week. Still in perfect condition I don't get it, buy samsungs people.

I was looking into that water resistance, up to 5minutes in 5 feet of water. That's a perfect pool phone right there (i live in Fl). Plus it has stereo speakers, freaking HTC has one mono speaker and the other side has a front facing bass speaker. I mean, it's neat sure, but this is the year 2016 and God damnit I want stereo sound on my phone.

So I'm gonna go to att and play with them, both screens are amazing but I know support is better for a galaxy than HTC for gadgets and cases, this has been a problem for me before. I might make the switch T_T

For my next phone, I'd like:
* At least one memory card slot - My current phone has none and I regret it
* Removable battery - My current phone's battery is going to die before anything else on it, and it's not obviously replaceable.
* Sensible phone charger
* IR Blaster - If I'm casting shit from my phone anyway, it would be so much more convenient to just be able to control the TV from my phone as well
* It to be the next Nexus so I can get on Project Fi.

Do work, Google! Next Nexus, where?!

I haven't had insomnia is such a long time, but it really sucks. I don't even feel tired but I know I should be asleep right now. My knee is killing me (for literally no reason, I have done nothing to aggravate it and the weather is fine) and my mind is just racing. I have an appointment at 9AM and somehow I don't think I'm going to be sleeping beforehand, and I do need to spend the rest of the day job hunting.

Fuck yeah, insomnia. :/
