Bought a new grill. Went to assemble and it had duplicate of one of the legs so it was missing a leg I needed. At least it was one of the parts I was starting with instead of one of the ending parts.
edit: Submitted a warranty claim so waiting on that. Found the replacement part on their site, 12.94 shipped. Annoying if this takes until memorial day. Wanted to have it setup and test fired before then as I planned on doing a full packer brisket.
pfffffft
Ordered a new phone a couple weeks ago, and waited for it to arrive, never tested it before setting it up completely because I was waiting on a call so two and a half hours of redownloading apps, finding a clock/weather widget I liked, uploading my pics, music, and contacts, configuring everything and I put my SIM in and had internet access but couldn't make calls even after double and triple checking that it was set to CDMA and 45 mins on chat with a Verizon rep who suggested getting a new SIM the next morning.
Well, next morning rolls around and I pull it from the box to charge it to have on me when I go to Verizon and I finally take notice that, after watching tons of reviews and unboxings, the charger was wrong, a quick look at the model number and I figured it out. Turns out I received the European model that had had the EU charger replaced for a generic NA charger and then was resealed. So, I returned it for a refund and reordered directly from Google, so when I get it I have to set up yet another phone the way I want it.
Two cavity fillings = $250
my insurance sucks.
I have 5 more to go. Nothing like financially reality to slap me into attempting to take care of my teeth better. Blah.
This will probably be me in 3 or 4 years.
I'm part of the population with the very poor enamel decay. It decays at an accelerated rated, so as a result I have a ton of cavities/micro fillings. I probably have 30 fillings (small and large) 3? root canals, 2 teeth pulled and 3 or 4 implants/crowns. Out of all that, I have paid maybe $500. I've been going to the same dentist since I was about 4, and he's still in practice. One of the best I've ever been to, and he takes whatever he can get from insurance and calls it even. I love the man.
You're not genetically lucky, but doctor lucky, I guess.
I feel like $250 for TWO fillings is absurd, but if anyone else has experience please chime in. All said and done I'm looking at a grand for 7 cavities, is that... accurate?
yeah. welcome to america.
Ok then. Not gonna fight it/bitch much. I promised myself I would take this year to really catch up financially, mentally and health(ily). Taking care of myself and my stuff (bike, mostly.)
I THINK I am locked into the insurance I have because of Obamacare. I'm really not sure and I SHOULD look into it. But after this year I am researching insurance options better and selecting one that isn't the made-in-Taiwan option.
Welcome to dentistry. My girlfriend has crappy cavity-prone teeth and every time she goes to the dentist it costs her almost half a month's salary. That's private; in the UK she could get it from a cost of £50 per filling on the NHS but she'd be on a waiting list for months as her teeth fell apart in her mouth. Ouch.
You have dental insurance. You're already way ahead.
Thanks for making me feel better, guys. I see basically 1k to fix just the cavities and it's a lot. But I also have spent no money on dental work in 5+ years so I do realize it's basically playing catch up. Would have been spending the money regardless if I had gone to the dentist at all in that time.
I wonder when I'm going to have to get my teeth fixed. Only had a couple of small cavities when I was younger that were there for years but never got bigger that dentist insisted I get them drilled out to make them big enough to fill and did so despite my protest. Now of course since he did a bad job it just left the tooth more prone for decay and the filling + some extra tooth has come out. Hate dentist
as with any medical professional, the key is finding one you like. personally as well as professionally. don't be afraid to shop around.
Slightly pricy but it might be your area. A toothbrush, toothpaste and floss are cheaper, yo.
