This is how it is for me too but I also have friends who despise it and to each their own for sure. I grew up in Florida on Disney and we had our honeymoon at Blizzcon/Disneyland/Sea World/San Diego Zoo.
The fact I have a husband who loves Disney as much as me and allows my obsession is a huge plus. We're actually going through withdrawals and can't wait to go back. We have a 10 night trip tentatively planned for Nov28th - Dec. 8th in Florida but several factors at play determine if that's happening or not.
I enjoyed Disney when I was a kid. My family had/has a timeshare in Kissimmee at a nice country club/resort so we'd go every couple years. When I got to be a teenager I realized that there wasn't much I wanted to actually do there.
We're letting that timeshare go without payment so we can;t use it anymore, but my in-laws bought a timeshare a few years ago outside Disney. They keep trying to get us to go down, but neither myself nor my wife really wants to go.
Yeah. Probably a large factor is not wanting to take a vacation where there are giant crowds. I live in a place like that. I dated a girl a long time ago who worked there over summers and we broke up because I hated Disney. Probably for the best, she's a nutbag Wiccan who talks about retrogrades now.
I've been there more times than I can count. Between all the parks, probably been there 20+ times. My grandmother moved to Florida when I was 7. I visited her every year, sometimes twice. Was real close with her, she got me into videogames, funny as that seems. Anyway, she worked at Disney for about 20 years. So we (family and I) got in for free. I know most of the shortcuts, ways around things, when to go, etc. Seen it in all seasons. It's nice, and I see the appeal for kids, but would I ever spend my life savings and have it be my dream vacation? Absolutely not. I really don't get that.
My grandma passed this past Dec at 79. She was stubborn and refused to ever go to the doctor's. I really don't have a reason to go to Florida ever again.
Now I'm sad. Thanks FWP.
Did another lung check up today. My lung functions went down another .3 points.(Was at 4.10, went down to 3.8 in the last one, and now i'm at 3.5) Which is really really really bad. I've been exercising since the last time they went down and they still keep going down. If no matter what I do and it keeps going down, I'm most likely fucked. I have another check up in 2 weeks and if they continue to go down. I'll probably be hospitalized for major "Oh shit" meds.
Had a good panic attack and freak out when I got home.
I'm sorry that you're dealing with that , There's nothing I can say to understand but hoping the best for you.
I think I was 20 when I went to Disney with my sisters' family, it was tons of fun and all around a great vacation
Rides were fun, epcot was neat, food in certain places was great
Lots of fine women around too :^)
To me, Disney is always magical, whether it's the first time or the fiftieth time. I always just fall in love with the environment whenever I'm there. Most of the rides aren't exceptional in terms of thrills, but it's not about that. I always see something different every time I'm there, and just that hopeful feeling the whole place gives off makes me keep coming back.
Disney is ok. I like the rides and such though hate the crowd but it hardly appeals to me more than a random amusement park and most of that is because some of the earliest memories I still have are from when I went when I was 3... and other like 2 memories from that age are less good lol.
This is it for us exactly.
My fail or two today :
I've been working here almost 4 years ( back fulltime since November) and someone at the dealership told a guest they had no idea who I was. I only email you guys daily..
Just got a job recruitment email stating they found my resume on a job board. The last time I posted anything was 2012..wtf.
Too tired to explain everything that happened today, but in a nutshell:
Took 9th and 10th graders to the zoo. Was supposed to be a half day and I should have been home by 2:30.
Told in the morning I was in charge (the Hell?)
School not only didn't plan for another chaperones, some had to stay for a meeting, meaning some teachers were watching 15 kids.
Ended up with 8 kids in the hospital for eating some edibles laced with Xanax. (a few of which hadn't admitted they took some and apparently threw up on the bus, so had to be sent over).
Had to be at the hospital with kids (4 of them, other three were sent to different hospital). I got there via one of the ambulances, so no car. One of the coaches was there, too. Thank god for him, because I couldn't get a signal inside, but he could. Dealing with contacting parents and giving statements to staff and police, etc.
Finally, one of the security guards took the two of us to take us back to school to pick up our cars. I was in a panic though because we left the hospital at 4:45. Takes 38 minutes to get to work, and 38 minutes back, but I had to pick up my kids at daycare by 6. Luckily, the hospital was near where I live, so I had the security guard drop me off at the daycare, and I walked home with the kids.
Waited till hubby came home and then went to pick up my car because if I left it overnight it might be gone the next day.
Throughout all this, I had to end up taking care of this special needs kid because the teacher who was watching him wouldn't take him anywhere, and we went through the whole zoo in like 30 minutes and my feet are dead because of it.
One of those is sarcasm.
The other one is a point you clearly missed.
But please, continue recalling how only bacteria produces acids, because brushing your teeth is what removes food so that bacteria can't generate biofilm and use it for food, the byproduct of which is acid.
Brushing your teeth, however, does not undo direct damage from other acids.
Like stomach acid. Or soda acid. Or acetic acid. Or Acid. Or meth.
I'm glad you attempted to integrate that into your overall point, but it's too bad you failed miserably at it.
Cavities don't come from bacteria. Bacteria can cause them from metabolism of leftover food, but they aren't the primary cause. Thanks for joining the rest of the world in being informed.
I want one of those Disney biker jackets!
Re: crowds at Disney--yes, they can be shitty if you go at the wrong time. I, too, hate the overcrowding which is why you'll never see me there during the Christmas holidays or the summer. Plus summer is way too hot. I usually go in January and the week of/after Labor Day (most schools are in their first week and most parents aren't taking their kids out during the first week).
