If a semi-large group managed to distribute and take pills unbeknownst to the people who are supposed to be supervising them, it kind of does reflect badly on those supposed to be supervising them (and therefore the school in general). Frankly, I can't blame the kids. Getting high is pretty much the only way going to the zoo would be tolerable. "Oh look, it's <animal>; I haven't seen 600 videos of those in their natural habitat on youtube. This is clearly so much more exciting seeing them in person, in a cage, doing fuck all."
Yo zoos are amazing I know you're fat and the outside world scares you and all but animals are A+
A few weeks back I went to the DC zoo and some great apes were roughhousing. They'd wrestle and run back and forth and generally freak out. At one point they suddenly ran over to the glass (butt facing us). The smaller of the two turns around, grins, and mimes knocking on the glass.
There are times when I wonder if you took unsocialized, cognitively impaired humans and locked them in a cage if they would form a society more or less complicated than zoo apes. Next-Hitler, the burden of my curiosity is on your shoulders.
^ truth.
It is sad that this happened because honestly all the other kids did AMAZING. They wandered around, saw some animals, bought some huge ass snow cones that they all loved. Most of these kids it was the first time going to the zoo. Who the fuck would pass that up and rather have classes all day? I had to run around the zoo like crazy, and not once did I see any student(s) just sitting around waiting to go home or anything.
Now, I agree we didn't nearly have enough chaperones. I didn't have any control over that, and will definitely push it for better handling in the future. With that said, if kids wanted to take a pill, they'll find a way to take a pill. You can't expect a chaperone to follow a kid into a bathroom stall (which afaik 3 that did it, did it in the bathroom.)
Drunk as fuck and always like to watch blade runner this way, so head over to netflix to see if its there and it isn't so thought fuck it lets use the site that usual has links to uploads of shit tthat i normally use, not there either so decide fuck it again i'll buy that shit on amazon instant video and lo and behold can't get that fucking shit there either for some reason other than the obligitory 'Our agreements with the content provider don’t allow purchases of Blade Runner at this time.' wtf is this shit man!!!! fuck being in the UK sometimes, shitty netflix, shitty amazon, shitty....just shitty...really should just buy the dvd of it at this point.
Watch total recall.
or the 5th element
Because LAUSD will only allow us to expel one of them. (The one that sold.) I am trying to push that each student has to write an apology letter to the zoo in hopes it fixes things.
Honestly, that's the part that keeps me fuming. #1 priority was to make sure the kids were ok. Now that I don't have to be concerned over that, I am concerned over good kids missing out on this trip because of how it seemed to be completely successful for the rest of the students. This really was a hit. Too often after a trip I hear kids complain about how boring it was. Not one complaint from this trip. Kids were excited to talk about what animals they saw and what food they ate, etc.. And these idiots had to fuck it all up for future students.
Zoos are A+ fucking awesome fun. Also aquariums. Top tier if they have those cute ass otters.
Also, homemade pills? Am I reading that wrong?
Damn. That's fucking crazy.
Taking a chick to the aquarium on Monday. Otters gonna get me laid.
If you lot are ever in the Mall of America, I highly suggest hitting up the aquarium in the basement. It's well done, geared more for kids but still a blast as an adult. They have a stingray tank where you can actually pet the stingrays... and even buy some food to feed them. That's actually the second touch-able tank you see, but the first is cold as fuck so not as pleasant, imo. Also, there's a part where you're walking through tunnels in the giant tanks, and can see the critters swimming overhead. Really cool.
Also, Twin Cities have some baller zoos nearby.
You need permission from the district to expel kids? That's retarded. Fuck when I was in school we expelled a guy just for showing up to class high from weed. Granted he did get a warning first but it's not like he was being disruptive or selling. Man what happened to zero tolerance policies? Well gotta be some kind of punishment you can hand out right? Fail them on their zoo participation!
I recently looked into it and have started to make moves towards a CA vacation centered around swimming with otters.
Edit win: Also related but in the wake of some pretty big long distance problems (some of which were mentioned here) between GF and I we ended up agreeing that we needed time together. She dropped about $900 total on last minute tickets and with only a few very small hiccups we had a week of amazing sex and fantastic making up and talking.
Admittedly, I'm biting my tongue on my own mixed feelings prior to this, but we had such a good time and honestly I have never been this happy with her so we will see. I think we we are both happy to have the distance be over and acknowledge why it hurt us to begin with.
But really if the sex stays like this I'm sorta good with whatever. So, otters.
From what I hear, it is not that easy anymore. You have to have a huge paperwork trail of all the previous offenses, how all those were handled, and that it was clearly explained to the student and parent that since the child already has 9 infractions this quarter, that one more will lead to an expulsion. And you better hope that kid is not a minority, because outside groups will suddenly take an interest in how the evil school is trying to deny an education to this poor, innocent student.
