Just fever. We didn't go anyplace intense and brought our own water. This morning it was really misty, so I'm guessing that got to her. It was cold at night, but we have 30 degree rated sleeping bags.

The company I just started working for does 'Thirsty Thursday' wherein they provide beer and other beverages Thursday afternoon. The fail is your companies don't.

They updated our software at work, so that the theatre projectors turn off the bulb and mute the sound if there are no tickets sold 40 minutes after showtime. Yet, we are somehow the assholes when calling people out if they complain about the movie suddenly stopping. Doesn't matter to them that they don't have tickets, we are in the wrong for not letting them watch it anyway.

working on some models this evening. i have a buttload of work in progress crap on my bench. i reach for one group of figures, and my index finger snags on the blades/horns/rhinoface of a demon horse monster nearby (chaos varanguard from the AoS GW line, if it matters). the blade goes into my finger and snags behind the nail bed. i'm on blood thinners so it took 15 minutes to stop bleeding completely and there's still a dark cloud of profanity hovering around the game room. there was blood and bits of skin stuck to the damn thing's face.

Time for some broken english : Please note that I'm really bad at doing manual stuff exemple putting a nail with a hammer takes me forever.

Anyway my wooden deck started to chip, because the old owner put paint on it. So i call a tool location place asking what is the best way to fix this, between a water pression machine and a floor sander. (I tell the guy my goal is to remove all the color to dye the wood instead of putting paint in it)

Called 2-3 places and they all told me to use a floor sander, because a Water pression machine can destroy my deck (it's a small one), so I listen to them and rant the machine, machine works well, but it doesn't remove the paint where it's not chipped, so i'm now stuck with a half brown half grey deck. Called them and they said well, if you want to remove the whole paint you would need to keep the floor sander at one spot for a few seconds (not too much so it doesn't make a hole) and continue.

In the end I said fuck it, and will just repaint everything in grey when the wood is all dryed up (rained yesterday)

Until I got to the US, I had never seen anyone walk out of one movie and straight into another without a ticket. Although it's so east to do I was still surprised to see it happen but my wife says it happens all the time

My stream of conscious opinion on the subject if anyone cares:

In the US, Memorial Day is set aside to remember and honor our fallen members of our military. This is common knowledge. It's also the official start of the summer season, so most people get a three day weekend and have a BBQ or go to the beach or an otherwise fun activity. But inevitably someone will come along and debbie downer your ass and be all "TODAY IS ABOUT THE FALLEN HOW DARE YOU HAVE FUN AND STOP SAYING HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TRIGGERRRRRRRRED". No shit, we know what it's for. I'm not gonna spend the three day weekend being all somber and shit. You acknowledge it but don't let it consume you. You go out and honor the sacrifice by drinking beer, having a BBQ, get a good deal on a new car or TV, or whatever the hell you want to do, just do some cool American shit, yo. I started noticing certain people getting uppity about it last year and it's increased quite a bit this year. At least in my experience, this is the same cross section of people that would get butthurt if someone wished them a "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas."

My day is in November. Like I don't get all stupid about it, I just correct them and move about my day, but that one just kind of irks me a teeny bit.
