The head honcho was given figures showing how much money the company is pissing away on each job duty that was taken away from me and redistributed elsewhere. This is months on so can no longer blame it being too fresh. He still refuses to revert even a single one of the duties back and won't give a reason other than because 'I say so'. Keep in mind right now I have a workload of about 2 hours a day compared to the 8-10+ I used to have.

Work still insist it isn't personal but can't be anything else. Fuck knows what I did because I never interact with him to possibly piss him off.

Considering taking a paycut/huge loss of benefits just to get out now. They won't fire me but clearly have no plans to let me do anything ever again considering they'd rather throw away six figures a month instead of just letting me fix the mess they created.

Three decent examples

1. I built the companies quality assurance department and procedures from scratch. The impact was that aborted installations dropped from $5.5m per year to $1.5m per year. The new head honcho was baffled by the existence of the department. His logic 'People should just do things correctly / be held accountable for their mistakes. They should perform QA on their own sales'. So now we have sales staff performing quality assurance on technical information they don't understand and are being paid large amounts of commission on if it gets through.

2. I worked with a developer to produce a 3D scanning solution for one of our custom products. People fly around the country to perform these scans so I always made them contact me from site to make sure we had everything and it came out clear, took me like 10-15 mins to run through CAD but ensured we would not need a return visit. Head honcho again decided this was silly, they should just do it right (the software is temperamental). So cut me out of the process. So now we have shit going into 2-4 week manufacture then not working and/or people having to fly to the same fucking scan 2, 3, 4 times.

3. Installers frequently called me from site for advice. He decided they can't do this anymore. So he literally lets them abort the install and let down the customer instead of them speaking to me for 5 minutes over the phone to solve the issue.

I don't even care about getting my old wage back. I just hate knowing they are completely wasting my knowledge/abilities. I could do so much more to help and he flat out will not let me.

Basically can be summed up with the old 'Cutting their nose off to spite their face' saying. The sad thing is that at some point someone is going to get seriously hurt or maybe even die as a result of this (not an exaggeration)

I honestly don't know why they wouldn't just fire me rather than do all this shit and have me sat doing nothing. I work in an 'At will' state so they don't even need to justify it

It's a really odd situation. The company was run extremely well (I've worked there for over 11 years). Then the owner brought in a young I.T. developer who he gradually gave more and more power until he had full control. This I.T. developer is like ~26 years old, this is his only job out of college and was given the job after the owner just met him in a coffee shop in the Bahamas. He also isn't officially on the companies wagebooks (he works directly for the owner apparently). It's really fucking bizarre and completely out of character for the owner.

The owner knows everything that is happening and still backs the decisions.
