I have 7 different MMOs, 70 steam games, 10 indie games, about 30 different Emulator games, 5 games on my tablet, and a PSVita with about 20 games installed on it; and I feel like I have nothing at all to play/do on a Saturday evening.

Hubby got out at 11 pm after a 12-hour day only to find out the police have blocked off a huge portion of the street outside our apt. They are all in front of a hotel several blocks away, but aren't letting anyone in, so he's stuck in the parking lot of Norms waiting to be able to go home. ><;
[edit] google tells me they had a bomb threat at the hotel after a drug investigation so had to send in the bomb squad
isnt it convenient when the police shock and awe the neighborhood?
Sucks...he finally got back home at like 2 am, and has to do another 12 hour day today. Plus, I couldn't sleep from worrying about him, so now I'm running on about 4 hours of sleep. Baby didn't want to sleep in!![]()
Not my fail, but a awesome one from a co-worker.
Fight someone >> use OC spray >> pick nose before washing down.
Was hilarious watching this unfold, well minus the fight.
Found a working Virtual Boy complete in the box with Wario Land at a garage sale for two dollars. Played for five minutes now I have a headache.
Working as intended.
I remember having one when I was little but I don't remember it giving me a headache. This shit was like instamigraine. Also putting that thing up on eBay. Going for 60 - 100 bones on there. Hello profit. That's the great thing about the summer. Church flea markets and yard sales. I love it. Picked up a Gameboy Advance and Pokemon Emerald for two dollars last weekend. Also got a Gameboy Pocket, Pokemon Gold, and Pokemon Blue for a dollar yesterday. Nothing says capitalism like ripping off a church!
i hope you're keeping the rest of that stuff. fuck yeah pokemon!
Nope. That shit's going too. Got too many games and systems as it is.
Ugh, Virtual Boy is still the only Nintendo system I haven't found at a garage sale...
Called our IT firm to get my password reset on my corporate email. Tech emails me the new password AFTER he reset it. How exactly am I supposed to log into my email to get the new password to log in?
So, as everyone knows I've had back pain problems for two and a half years. I've been dicked around by the Pain Clinic here for that same amount of time. Today, I went to see them for painkillers as I'm going to Vegas for a MTG tourny next week. I straight up told the doctor "Give me painkillers" he responded with "Sure, what works?" I said "Oxys", he wrote me a script and I left. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. I've been playing nice and understanding for over 2 god damn years because I didn't want to seem like a drug addict, today, I demand narcotics and bam, he just hands them to me without an issue. I should have fucking done this a long time ago.
Next time punch him in the face after he gives you the script.
i didn't realize you'd never tried that before, or i would have suggested it. i was surprised the first time i wanted painkillers, and even just a specific treatment, because my CNP reacted the same way. I have a hunch that they're so used to dealing with people who don't know shit about their own condition that they just assume if you say things like "i dont think this is working" that you're actually not sure (which is not very useful to them), as opposed to just politely suggesting that they find something else.
Did this today for a user, actually. I also copied the Office Admin that put in the original request so that he could facilitate. Of course, my request came in via email, and we're not supposed to "escalate" to a call unless the customer requests it or there's no other option. I didn't hear back, so I guess they figured it out.
edit: you don't work at a national law firm do you?
yeah me too. i didn't try it until like.. last year, maybe? and i've had crohn's for almost 9 years. but i was doing really bad, wanted something for the pain. i made some comment about how rough it was, my CNP didn't suggest anything, so i just flat out asked for something for the pain and she said "Oh. Okay. What did you have in mind?" There ended up not being anything that did what I wanted it to (since most painkillers are habit-forming, fuzz up your brain, or have other unpleasant side effects that would have only made my situation worse) but it made me realize just how passive I was being in my treatment.
That was with someone i'd known since the first couple years of diagnosis, though, and had worked with me that whole time. also its Mayo, so they know their shit. sounds like youre dealing with some airheads, so i can definitely see how that would make you even more worried about being labeled a drug seeker. from what i hear, if you get a reputation for that, it can really fuck you over. Especially if you don't have a lot of other places to go to.
