a foot long and thin in the US isn't venomous. you're fine. the biggest thing you'll have to worry about is finding snake jerky later when it dies of dehydration/evisceration by cat.
also, aren't you guys in CA? only venomous snakes native here are rattlesnakes.
this will help.

Well I'll be damned. In Southern California the only two venomous snakes in the region are the sea snake and various rattlesnakes. Fucking hipsters don't even have copperheads.
Your cats will be fine if it's not venomous. When we lived in CO our cat would bring us a dead snake every so often from our backyard, as if she wanted us to grill it for her or some shit lol.
Yeah in California there aren't many venemous snakes just the rattle snakes. Sea snakes don't really count because they are incredibly docile/not aggressive and fairly rare here.
Yeah thing was more scared of the cat then me but I had no quick way of identifying it, so I wanted to play it safe. Was a solid grey or green (I'm colorblind) with a black head
So since she's got the diabetes my gfs doctor(s) have been giving various nutritional advice some of which clearly shows they don't know a lot about nutrition. Latest bit being when she asked about weight and such they told her that a BMI of 25 was the ideal she should be shooting for and that under 22 was an unhealthy amount of being underweight.... <.<. It's been difficult trying to convince her that the doctor is literally telling her she should be overweight. Even worse apparently from what I gather they've been doing the calcs to make it look like her BMI is lower than it is and scare her into thinking what would be around 20 is isntead 15 or something lol
Oh I agree completely. But I'm trying to prioritize the battles and that takes a backseat to being overweight or the latest one where they told her fiber cancels out sugar or some bs so if you eat a bunch of fiber you can eat the same amount of sugar and be just fine... I swear to god her doctor has less knowledge on nutrition then was taught in my middle school
What the fucking hell? Are they actual doctors?
EDIT: Disregard, that's a thing.
that's some fucking facebook doctor shit right there, what the fuck
I almost feel they are feeding her bad info to make sure she needs the meds instead of handling it with diet. That or they've kowtowed to all the fatties that come in insisting their healthy problems aren't related to washing down their cakes with a liter of soda each day.
Tell her to research LCHF / keto , I've known people personally who have been having great success with it including myself ( though not diabetic).
BMI is horseshit. Lazy doctors piss me off.
Shit I've been telling her about it for the last couple of years before this came up so you'd think when she started showing signs she'd jump on it but nope let's waste money on idiot doctors /sigh. Tempted to get some calipers to have something more accurate to show her her doctor is full of shit but then I'd have to practice using them. Uggg why don't other at home methods work
Potato quality as I only had my work phone on me but here was our guest.

Fiber can help negate carbs, but not in a "I ate a ton of celery so that means it's cake o'clock" sort of way. Can confirm that low-carb/keto will make you drop weight, but it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change.
Personal fail: I'm turning into a crossfit/vegan/vaper when it comes to my own low-carb thing.
