Just got back. Walk felt good. Sprouts lived up to being utter shit. I mean their fruits and veggies are more expensive than Ralph's. How does that happen? Ended up having to walk to the CVS next door to get like shampoo n' such.


Super King is my grocery of choice, but it's 2 miles away. I may just have to try walking that instead next time.

Yeah, that's double the distance I did today, but considering I don't hit my step count with that distance, I have to walk it throughout the day anyway.

As for baskets, I bring the double stroller for the kids, and there is a basket underneath.

edit: Stroller fits about two reusable bags full of items. Can add in a half of a third one, too.

My wife is technically younger than me, but number of years since birth is only one metric. She got the granny grocery stroller, had two gray hairs, and has back pain sometimes. I think that trumps a few months and I can reasonably claim to be younger than her.

Back in like 2008 one of my LS had a grandma in it, she was in her late 60s, she played with her grand kids, and was actually a pretty good FFXI player. Did end game stuff with us too. During a D-Xarc run we got RDM hat to drop (back when it meant something) and lots of people wanted it but the leaders gave it to the grandma because, as they privately explained later, "this lady is old she might die any day now so let her enjoy this."

Weird, though they are more expensive than Smart & Final, typically they are cheaper than Safeway/Vonn's out here. We would easily spend 50-75 at Sprouts and get 2-3x as much food for the same price then we would at Safeway. Though now we do 90% of our shopping at Smart & Final unless Safeway has some killer sale going on.

Though now we do 90% of our shopping at Smart & Final unless Safeway has some killer sale going on.

Just to give an example: Their bananas were $1lb at Sprouts and they are pretty standard 69¢lb at Ralph's. Super King (don't think it's up there in that area yet, but it's spreading rapidly) is usually like 99¢ per 3lb.
