first case: biking before work this morning. there is a part where the bike path and the walking path line up next to each other. most walkers are respectful and remain on the walking side, but some are not. I almost ran over a group of people who had spread out and completely took up both paths, and weren't paying any attention as I came barreling toward them. I yelled out "WATCH OUT!!" and after they dodged me, you know what one of them yelled back? "YOU DONT HAVE TO YELL DUDE, CHILL!"
MOTHERFUCKER.
we have three options here. 1) I swerve to avoid you and/or hard brake, possibly injuring myself and certainly (in the case of a hard brake) damage my bike. given that I'm not in the habit of sacrificing my shit for your shit, especially if you're an idiot, this was never an option. 2) I yell at you and you get out of the fucking bike path and back onto the walking path where all the intelligent, respectful walkers are. 3) I CRASH THE FUCK INTO YOU.
given that I've nixed 1, would you REALLY prefer I forego option 2 and choose option 3? REALLY? this shit is lined by a busy street on one side and a body of water on the other; there is no room to be dodging around people like I might do on other paths. it's always been a testy area and today we saw why. in conclusion: fuck your dumb ass, don't walk four-by-four and clog up the entire bike path you morons. be respectful.
second case: guy calls into us from another department to help with a duplicate charge issue for his customer. I ask him for an ID number, which is basic information that he should have gotten before making the call, he says "I don't have that. can I just bring the customer on?" I say no, can you please check and see if you have any information at all that might help me here. he says hold on a sec, then comes back with the ID number. ah. so you were just being a lazy shit, you didn't want to look for the info. I then ask him where he sees the duplicate charge because I don't see it anywhere, he says "oh I didn't check. can I just bring the customer on?" ah. so you just wanted me to take care of everything without even verifying there was an issue in the first place - i.e. offload the customer and make someone else do your job for you.
I help the customer, but after the call is over I went off on him in a private message. I mean Jesus fuck, you couldn't take literally 15 seconds to verify there was an actual issue before you just dumped the call on another department? god damn, dude.
