Random Fail: First World Problems

So missed making my best time ever on my ride home by about 20 seconds. What really makes this is a fail is I completely would have made it except some lady decided to whip out of a parking lot right in front of me to try and get into the middle lane even though there wasn't enough room for her. So she ends up basically parking perpendicular to traffic with her nose in the middle lane, completely blocking the bike lane and her back end blocking enough of the right turn lane that traffic behind her had to stop. I come up to her and tell her that she doesn't belong parked across solid white lines let alone blocking parts of 3 lanes and she just cops a tude and is like you can wait behind me.

Woke up to my "What the fuck are you doing still asleep at this hour" alarm. Sore throat makes it hard to eat or drink anything. Construction on my street caused me to not be able to actually get off of my block for 20 additional minutes. Fucked up a REM cycle to boot.

Get to work and find out all but one of my appointments is canceled for today, and it's the last possible timeslot so I can't even just go home and sleep it off. Third cup of coffee in two hours. Inability to form complete sentences.

I slept clean through the construction noises, as dumb as that is. My "oh shit panic" alarm is an ear-screeching whistle from hell and that's what got me.

I swear my body just gives up the ghost when there's a 3-day weekend coming. I can pretty much guarantee I'm going to wake up to the whistle at least once more, regardless of when I go to bed or how much sleep I get.

Solution: Stay up late and play video games anyway, since I'm probably shot for the week.

pretty sure - but can't confirm 100% - that I was drugged this weekend. left one of my favorite shirts and my phone down by the pool; both gone. spent yesterday in a sort of living hell as my serotonin reserves slowly replenished themselves - not at 100% today, but better.

oddly enough I'm not even mad. shit happens, I guess. can't prove anything and as far as I can tell my personal information wasn't breached. so it's like... life goes on.

We aren't open to the public at all today but still had like 10 people walk in to our office that has all the blinds closed and locked and lights off. My boss of course insists we help them because he is under the impression if they leave they wont come back despite us literally being the only place in town and the cheapest within 100 miles

So was riding next to this car and was about to pass him and dude just cuts all the way in which had I not braked really quickly would've definitely hit me since he went all the way to the sidewalk. And the reason why he suddenly with no warning had to cut in like that? Because he wanted to hit on some chick passing by... which I could maybe forgive if she was hot but she was middle aged, 300lbs Hispanic woman who was missing teeth and ugly as sin

Yay. Wake up to check some stuff on comp... normally don't cause I sleep in enough that I don't have time but was feeling bad and felt like getting up. Hit shutdown and it mostly shuts down but fans still going full speed ahead. Hit the power button nothing. Fine flip the switch to turn it off. Look inside some make sure nothing too obvious is wrong. Nope. Not feeling good so go back to bed some. Come back try to power it up and nothing. Not even the lights that are always on unless I unplug/flip the switch. Luckily only a year old so still under warranty but that involves shipping fun times and having to back up my drive first

The beginning of the end happened today. I signed papers for my first mortgage. I don't know whether to be happy or cry as the next 30 years I'll have this debt.

Bloomberg is causing me to have to work at a glacially slow pace due to their shitbox methods of data integration and export.

What should have been 35 minutes of work has turned into a 6 hour debacle.

My parents' mortgage payments were set to end in 2024. About a year ago they refinanced a 2nd 30 year mortgage. Both of my parents are retired and in their mid to late 60s. I wasn't happy with that decision at all, but in the end it is their house and not mine.

That's a really poor decision unless they got a drastic rate drop. Prime rate in 1994 (Assuming 30 year fixed) was ~6.25% to ~8.50% and it's nearly flat at 3.5% right now for the foreseeable future.

They have a giant amount of equity built up for the refi... 30 years doesn't make sense though.
