Trunk latch on my car broke so it won't close. Which I wouldn't care about if I had anything handy to force it shut as I've used my trunk about 3 times in the last 2 years. But everything in my house is packed right now as I'm moving. Also because Florida it's about 9 billion degrees outside whilst I've been trying to fix the damn thing

I'm thinking of trying to duct tape it shut from the inside. Not sure if it will work but it's basically the only thing I have handy right now

This may not work depending on your vehicle. Personally, I'd put the back seats down, crawl back to tie the trunk down from the interior.

Yeah that's basically what I wanted to do but I don't have anything to tie it down with. I've heavily duct taped it and it seems to be sticking for now. Or at least long enough for me to go and buy some bungee cords.

But jesus christ being inside a trunk in 100+ degree weather for a good 30 mins is such a fucking awful experience. I think I sweat more doing that than when I used to do long distance running

The neighbors from hell moved, but came back to put on one last performance. They had their Uhaul to fill up the truck and I guess a fist fight broke out and spilled into my front yard. I look out the window and I see 2 spectators, one on the ground, and the other dragging her by the heels.

I was like "This has police written all over it" sat back in my chair and turned my anime back on. Would have snap chatted it if they didn't have a good view of my window from where they were fighting. Just looked out of the side of the blinds.

Hopefully they get this truck filled fast and gtfo for good

Hating life in DC right now. The weather sucks ass, all the tourist traps are predictably packed, and yet my family still wants to stay for the fireworks over the national mall that might not even happen. Only saving grace of the day is that the metro going into the city was eerily empty.

so, more theories about my throat, because the pain is distracting and venting my thoughts about it helps somewhat:

there are inflamed areas in my mouth, at the back and to the sides of my tongue, which feel suspiciously like the fissures on my ass. further, this could easily fit within my original theory: i long ago established that otherwise unrelated events in an area where subdued Crohn's symptoms reside can easily irritate those symptoms, causing them to run rampant. so this could be a Crohn's flare-up (induced by prolonged allergen exposure, aka sleeping at my gf's cat-ridden apartment for 2 nights in a row). i don't recall having developed fissures in my mouth like this, but it's possible it happened without me noticing or it simply happened long enough ago that i forgot.

lol, pretty sure i'm vaccinated for that. no guarantee, obv, but it's protection enough i'm not worried. regardless, i'm going to the local clinic tomorrow to have it looked at, no matter how i'm doing.

The last ~10 hours or so have seen some improvement. My throat is still drying out crazy fast just from breathing (through my nose, even), which is incredibly uncomfortable and preventing me from sleeping for long, but the inflammation near my tongue has gone down drastically. It's not gone yet, but it looks to be on its way out. Lymph nodes are still swollen, but not tender, and seem like maybe theyre getting smaller? hard to say.

I've spent the last 10 hours sitting in my chair writing code for my Civ V mods (and looking at internet stuff), so I guess I just needed time, a distraction, and an upright posture. And tea. Lots and lots of tea.
