Ah ha... There was enough of a space between the stairs and the porch to slide my sickle in there and detach the nest before running like mad. I'll see about getting it off the ground tomorrow and disposing of it. Does anyone know if the queen just try to rebuild if I do that?

Ideally you'll get the queen when you wipe out the nest. Whatever you decide to do, wait until it's night time to do it. They will be slightly more docile then. If you try to work on it during the day wear long sleeves and gloves. If it's in an easy to access spot now I would simply Raid the shit out of it to thin out the ranks. Then drag it out into the yard and burn it.

Had a red-eye last night out of Colorado, got home at 5:30 am, had to pretty much come straight to this professional development workshop. I'm dying. Dozed off in the truck for like ten seconds but it's too hot/uncomfortable. I just need to make it another 3 hrs.

been oddly sick for like a week. low-grade dysphoria and mild body aches. it's like the very beginning stages of a cold, but it's not getting worse or better.


it's one of those things where you're like... IDK. what the fuck am I supposed to do with this? tell the doctor "I feel mildly icky"? for now just gonna ride it out and if it's still around in another week, I guess we'll see.

Got stranded at JFK after my layover flight was cancelled. Originally was going to rent a car and just drive the few hours (5ish?) home, but was convinced by airline staff I would be on the next flight to Boston.

12 hours later, I'm finally home.
