Random Fail: First World Problems

On a lighter note for first world problems... planned a 4th of july thing pretty last minute (ok, it was 2 days ago). Everybody had plans, only 1 person (out of 20 or so) said they could come. 7pm hits, it's a fucking monsoon here in the southeast and everybody's outdoor plans are exploded. All of a sudden 16 people show up for food. Arg!

remember how i said my neighbors were decent? its midnight, my parents are heading home, i'm giving my mom a hug and suddenly one of my neighbors smacks my window. wtf? idk if its because my blinds were up and they were trying to attract my attention to that, or if they were complaining about the light, or what. in any case, my window is like 2 feet from my door, where knocking wouldn't have scared the crap out of my mom.

be interesting to see if i get a call tomorrow from the property manager with a complaint for something. i wouldn't be terribly surprised; the people immediately around me are cool, but the people in the buildings across the parking lot are dicks. complained because my guests took all the visitor parking spots (for one evening). well, duh, they're visitors.

Fricking forest fire west of Las Vegas at Mt. Charleston is now covering the entire sky in smoke. 100+ degree weather already made me not want to go outside, and now it is just worse. >.> It honestly looks like a volcano erupted near the city right now, the sky is quite scary.

Nothing was stolen from me or my immediate family. They were not allowed anywhere out of sight so they knew they would be caught if they took anything. The best part of this whole thing is my brother-in-law caught his oldest son (13) stealing cigarettes out of the locked jockey box in their car. After that happened, my brother-in-law's whole attitude changed. He came down hard on the 13 and 15-year-olds. They are the ones that conspire together and lie about everything. We caught them in several lies and searched their pockets/bags before they left. They had all kinds of shit that they could not explain how or when they got it without exposing the lies. It was actually a really great ending to the visit in that the kids no longer get away with anything and their dad has turned over stolen cell phones and other small electronics to the police. Maybe these kids will finally get some well earned community service and a few days behind bars now that their dad has opened his eyes and acknowledged that they are little thieves.

The shitty ongoing part is that he has a younger son with cerebral palsy that is not getting the medical attention he needs. He also has a 17 (16 maybe) year-old daughter that is caught up in this whole thing and has done nothing wrong. She is the broken child that has dove into academics to hide from all the family drama. She has maintained a 3.8 GPA and is in college prep classes. I really hope these two kids can make it out of this bullshit relatively unhurt. We offered to let the older daughter live with us but my brother-in-law won't let her because "that's not fair to the younger two"....as if the little thieving liars need anything fair right now...

Instead of the points going a, b, c, they go a, c, b, meaning it passes point c to pick up stuff at point b, then goes back to point c to pick up stuff, then passes b on the way to d. (following the same road during all of that)

It took 5 days to fucking process the damn thing, and then they shipped it from New Jersey to fucking GERMANY, just to send it to Canada. The website claims "the day you order, you can expect your purchase within 5-10 business days", with a warning for "an additional 4-5 days for customs". Fine, thats 15 business days max, which I think may be kind of ridiculous considering FedEx shipped my bass, a pedal and a small amp (80 pounds worth) from Montreal to Calgary in 3 business days. Now its 18 days, and my order just found itself in Mississauga, Ontario. I emailed the company, saying DHL must be a bunch of monkeys because theres no reason my shit should wind up in Germany, and the reply was "DHL is a german company and routes all their packages through Frankfurt". What the fucking fuck? Why use a shipping company that you know routes their shit to the middle of europe when you make promises of 5-10 business days?

I feel like calling Visa and telling them I'm not paying this shit, cause this is fucking absurd.

where did I say I received it? I'm in Calgary, not Mississauga, not to mention you clearly missed the point that this delivery company PURPOSEFULLY shipped my stuff from New Jersey to Germany, just to send it back to Canada.
