oh I'm not trying to defend them, I was making fun of the catch-all excuse for any and all problems with the school ever since I was there
I stayed for grad school and got absolutely fucked on my first grad assistant position, where I was misled into accepting a position in one department over another, only for them to completely change my position a few months into the job. it was bad enough that I was going to start paying for everything out of pocket and lose the wage just so I could tell them to fuck themselves. fortunately the other department found a spot for me to transfer
anyway, glad the new job is working out for you
The funniest thing is that apparently friends and family who aren't physics/math people understand so little about what I do I am getting multiple "congrats!" On my incredibly sarcastic fb post.
This is not something that the ADA would give a flying fuck about. We've dealt with EXTENSIVE ADA bullshit in the past. A very small portion of it legit. Reasonable accommodations does not include cutting to the front of the line. You stated you were willing to ask people to move if they were sitting in the handicap seats. That is all you were required to do.
Some people with disabilities use the ADA as nothing more than a shield to be a complete fucking twat towards the rest of the world. From the ADA itself. and this is the closest you'll come to your situation.
A person who uses crutches may have difficulty waiting in a long line to vote or register for college classes. The ADA does not require that the person be moved to the front of the line (although this would be permissible), but staff must provide a chair for him and note where he is in line, so he doesn't lose his place.
Woke up early to clean the apartment on a Sunday morning for a prospective roommate visit. Even paid for a carpet cleaning service. Waited around most of the day. Dude cancels after being late 30 minutes. Feels bad, man.
So go to Arby's and turns out those new brown sugar bacon sammiches are pretty good. But in the bag they decide to put a bunch of coupons for more food. Sounds great right? They all expire today...
It's 5pm on a sunday and I'm drunk w/ a family history of alcoholism. I'd say that's a fail. lol
I've got some pretty wicked heart burn this morning
I've been trying to call a number, a land line, all morning, and every time I attempt, I get nothing but dear air for about a minute and a half before the call drops. I've called this number before (Friday) but the place was closed and I got the "Thank you for calling..." blah blah blah thing. I've tried dialing other numbers this morning with no issues at all, so it's not my phone, and since it's a land line, the person didn't block my number by mistake. Just had my friend try the same number and it's not working for him either, so luckily, this fail is not just on my end, except for the fact that I actually do need to get ahold of this number today.
Almost failed getting my drivers license renewed because the DMV refused to believe the lenses on their machine were smudged.![]()
DVT still being stupid, so I get to go talk to the vascular surgeons tomorrow.
I feel you. I've been hospitalized twice for having Pulmonary Embolism and am on Warfarin permanently (or until the new drugs like Xarelto actually have an antidote/more research).
So largely to mess with people I keep basically no good photos of me on fb account and keep a picture of Hugh Laurie as my profile pic. Anyways recently had someone on fb ask if that's really me which does happen a bit and normally isn't too big of a deal. Except this time it was someone I went to school with since like 5th grade thru highschool and we should both be around 32 now... so how she could think I looked that old is kind of baffling even if she completely forgets what I looked like
She has no idea who you are and why you are friends on FB.
