My fail right now is the massive headache I have from the smoke from the huge forest fire bearing down on the ridge where I live and all of the fire clearing I have to do before it gets to me. On top of that we are doing an addition on our house which is great except that it means my wife and I had to move out of our bedroom and our only bathroom and live out of the living room while they tear half our house apart to finish the addition. We are really cramped now with 2 cats, 2 dogs, 2 adults, 1 4 year old in 450ish square feet of space.

So like a week or 2 ago one of our trucks was out and managed to clip a power line. You turns out the thing was hanging way too low and no signs or anything. So the first guy behind our truck gets hit passes by and is just like don't worry about it hese the things happen. Good guy. Guy behind doesn't get hit by the falling line but decides he doesn't want to wait or go around enough to avoid it so runs it over fast enough to fause if to snap up and put a tiny scratch in his car. That douche has decided to file an insurance claim trying to get us or really iur insuranceto pay for basically a whole new paint job for the whole car. Luckily our insurance just laughed at his insurance company but who mnows how far they intend to take it. You today though we get a bill from PG&E. They are basically denying any fault in the incident even though clearly for this to haplen their lines had to be way too low and are billing us for th full cost to put the line back up which apparently took 16 hours (it didn't they were done shortly after they got us clear to leave) and costed over $3k

PG&E doesn't know which end is up half the time. We've been told to ignore half the manuals/guides we have from them by their own employees.

Sounds about right for pg&e. When I was living with my grandmother, a transformer blew and it smoked my computer which was plugged into a cheap surge protector. I filed a claim and they said it fell under acts of God as a bird flew into the transformer so they were not liable.

Not exactly irl-related but realizing again that I get way too heated in debates with people in vidyagames communities. Happened when I still played XIV last year, I would routinely clash with all sorts of idiots on Reddit/OF/wherever because I couldn't help myself when I saw a foot-in-mouth idiotic statement or some excuse to plan around a .01% scenario when it doesn't ever apply in 99.99% of situations. Happening again in another community now and makes me realize I just need to go dark and not give a fuck, because it's unhealthy and if I start I can't help myself. I have a low tolerance for bullshit.

Other than that, just uh fuck summer in general. Too hot.

My mom went home today after being with us for 6 weeks, and I'm feeling ridiculously low.

Tomorrow we take my kids to my in-laws to stay with them for two weeks while I go back to work and get the apt. ready for the move.

It's going to feel very lonely.

The win in all this is our anniversary is this weekend. So since we will be at the in-laws it means we can go out somewhere nice for dinner.

So guy in apartment next to me decided that 1 am was a perfect time have a long phone call, and that the appropriate volume for talking to someone on a phone is equivalent to what you would do for yelling at someone 50 yards away, and to top it all of decided the best place to do so was right outside of my window.

Ordered a new pillow case last week (number 5) and of the prior 4, they have all taken a month or longer to get here (aliexpress, so buying from China)

Decided hey, I'll just buy the actual pillow later since it's not coming for a month anyways.

The random win is that the case came in 7 days

Ordered it last Friday. The fail is that I stopped myself from buying the pillow early, so now I just ordered one now that won't get here until early next week.
