Scheduled a PFT today for a government program I've been going through for over two years now trying to get a position. Training for two months. Nervous all of yesterday. Take a half-day off work today and arrive at the address they told me to be at, made sure I had time to spare - no track in sight. It's a college campus and the address is right next to Student Services, so I go in and ask the girl at the front desk where the track is.
"Hmmm...we don't have a track...we have some trails over that way (vaguely gestures) that kind of go around..."
"Okay, well I'm here for a fitness test and was told to go to the track."
"Oh, you probably want the gym. It's the domed building."
"The one right behind us?"
"Yeah, you got it."
Leave, go back around the building. All around the gym. All through the gym. No sign of anything I'm looking for.
Finally find a map of campus outside. Of course they have a track, it's right next to the tennis court and baseball field, in the opposite direction of where the "trails" she indicated were. Make my way over there. Test began 15 minutes ago now. Instructor already has people on the third of four phases. Now I have to wait to see when they can reschedule me.
If she'd pointed me in the right direction when I asked instead of having me search through the gym, I would've made it.
More time to train, I guess.
^ Beat me to it, just now catching up in the thread.
Yeah Navy life can be pretty hard on relationships especially forming them.
so I work technical customer service. this guy calls up, starts the phone call with "what the fuck are you people fucking doing calling me you fucking-"
and I'm like "ok here's the thing. I'm going to hang up on you now. if you call back and use that same language, we're going to hang up on you again." *click*
sometimes I guess I don't quite hate my job. that was fun lol
My roommate that is moving at the end of September asked if he could have his security deposit put towards his share of the utilities and cable/Internet for his final two months...uhhh, nope.
Ordered a new phone from Amazon reseller as my moms iPhone was stolen (blessing in disguise) a couple days ago. So I'm giving her my current Galaxy S4 and going with a Sony Xperia Z5 Compact...but seller sends me the wrong colour. I was planning on making the switch tomorrow but looks like I'm waiting another week.
At least they're on the ball and replied and sent me the return packing slip a minute after I sent them an email about the wrong order.
I ordered cameras from Amazon for my girls two Christmases ago, one pink, one dark purple. When the order arrived they were both pink. The RMA process was quick, as you described, and three days later the replacement camera came. It too was pink. At that point everything broke down...getting an RMA of an RMA is apparently Amazon's equivalent of dividing by zero. Three days, 5 phone calls, and a half dozen emails later they managed to send me a black camera. I threw in the towel and settled.
I hope your phone works out better than my cameras.
Well, phone comes in three colours. Black, white or red. If the resend one is the same colour again, black instead of white, I can settle for that. If they do though, they'll get a mid-rating. No excuse to screw up an order twice.
I'm 100% certain how they got the wrong colour, as the colour shown on the product box is white. So I assume the person packing just didn't look at the label on the side, which clearly said black lol.
Came into work today, and one of our concessionists had a "make america great again" hat right next to their register, facing towards anybody coming up to the stand. At the very least, they should know that personal items belong in the breakroom. Wasn't going to waste my time explaining that when they are on the clock representing the company, do not bring up politics in any way, shape, or form in case people think our theatre is supporting candidate X.
Taking am online calculus quiz when my ISP decides to shit in my mouth and die on me 45mins in.
Now I have to restart the quiz.... during my lunch break ...and the incomplete quiz counts as 1/3 tries I get.
If it was up to me, she would have been given the boot a long time ago after the FIRST "I just found out we are going on family vacation tomorrow" call from her. (this has happened like 3 times in less than a year). But she is young, blonde, and has a big rack so my boss isn't in any rush to get rid of her.
A week of customer support from Comcast:
I called Comcast customer support this past Monday to tell them that http://customer.xfinity.com/remotes was broken and to ask them for the remote codes so I could pair my audio receiver with my remote. It was working for the most part, but if I hit "All On" button, it wouldn't turn the receiver back off but does turn the TV off. The support person escalated it to technical support. Technical support told me they couldn't tell me the codes because http://customer.xfinity.com/remotes was broken, but they walked me through a remote auto-setup that unpaired the remote from my TV and my receiver. At that point, I could no longer get the code to set either back up, because http://customer.xfinity.com/remotes was broken. I thanked the person for their time, hung up, and googled around online until I found a PDF of remote codes for the remote, one of which worked for my TV. I couldn't find any codes for my audio receiver, so I went back to using a second remote for it.
On Friday I tried again, because http://customer.xfinity.com/remotes was still broken and I at least wanted to get it as good as it was before I called them. I talked with that guy on the phone for half an hour before he realized that the audio receiver was not a TV. Once we finally got that out of the way, he confirmed that he couldn't look up remote codes because http://customer.xfinity.com/remotes was broken. He asked me if I wanted to set up a free Comcast tech visit, which felt stupid for such a simple problem. However, he assured me that the techs who come out actually have code books they can look in and read me codes from, which is all I'd fucking needed the entire time, so I said yes.
On Sunday at 9AM, I get a call from Comcast's Advanced Technical Support (in India) while I'm in line at the DMV. My case had been elevated to Advanced Technical Support, probably because I requested a tech. Of course, I was out running errands and wouldn't be home for hours, so I told them to call me back in a few hours. They called back, I was still out, told them to call me back again, phone tag, etc. Eventually I get home and call them, which works somehow, and they read me the freaking codes for my audio receiver. None of them have the functionality I was looking for (allowing me to turn it off from the Comcast Universal Remote's All On button), but at least I got it back to the state it was in before I called Comcast on Monday.
Their website is still broken, my remote still doesn't work as intended, and I wasted at least an hour on the phone with various Comcast tech support people who were ultimately unable to assist me in any tangible way. On the upside, I will happily hit the audio receiver's power button without any regrets as long as we both shall live instead of calling Comcast for remote codes ever again.
I don't usually come here to rant and bitch, but good lord, i'm at my wits end! My mom has been "dating" someone she met on Christianmingle or w/e the fuck its called for the last year ever since my dad died and shes never actually "met" or "talked" to this person, only communicating with him through text messages (first red flag), he's apparently a "multi-millionaire Architect that is currently overseas working in Egypt", but of course we can't find any info whatsoever about him or his work online (second red flag) and he keeps asking my mom for money constantly, claiming that he can't transfer his millions of dollars from his bank account over to Egypt and he can't pay his workers and his son is sick and now dead and he can't even afford a loaf of bread (last major big fucking red flag).
So despite I and my relatives trying to explain to her that this guy is obviously a online predator milking her for money, she absolutely refuses to acknowledge it (at first), but now she acknowledges it, but claims "but what if he really is starving? He needs the money and he's so kind to me". So I found out recently (about 3-4 month ago), that not only has she given him roughly 20-40k since she met him, but she also gave him access to her bank acct, right around the time her acct got frozen and she was mysteriously 30k in the red when she had her life savings in it (bank reimbursed her luckily cause they thought she got hacked), she used roughly 1k I gave her for house repairs long ago (I'm a struggling college student too btw, so thats alot of money) to give to him.
Now I find out that since she's short on money for paying bills, she's now given him her Social Security and other personal info in order for him to pay off her bills (how the fuck can he do that if he has money issues!?) and she doesn't see anything wrong with that at all............. >< I want to help her but gdi shes digging her grave big time now and I have no clue what to do.
Jfc. Take her out back, rub her belly, tell her its all gonna be ok, then put her down. It's for the best, she's too far gone to help.
Little less sarcastic, how the fuck do people believe this shit. Is it that easy? I am in the wrong fucking business.
Sorry man. Gl. That's so much money just gone...
