I tried that with a credit card, but no go. Gotten taken to court, judge ruled to have my wages garnished. I'm not denying I owed them money, so whatever. This is because I actually hit overtime for a week (gotta keep me under 30 for the ACA normally) plus got $100 bonus for being the manager on duty for a secret shopper. That $2.51 they getting from me is totally going to make a dent in the 7K I owed them at the time, not counting whatever other fees they keep adding to the amount.

My random fail: Not as talented as I want to be. (music)

As some know, I am taking over the Drama class this year. I have huge plans for doing a real production of a play with students where I teach them lights, sets, acting, etc.. I have a woman who is helping out three days a week who is an actress. Something I am seriously excited about.

We bought a new school site and finally got to see it it last week. The stage is awesome and it got me super pumped, BUT they also have a kick ass music room which they are giving to the Spanish teacher since we have no music teacher.

At first I was all, "It is what it is." But found out yesterday that one of the newly hired History teachers is also going to teach a drama class per her request. She just wants to do short one act play studies with students, so I am not stressed about that (well kinda stressed to make sure I get my students I need for the play, but I'll deal and that's not her fault), but I really feel inadequate because I don't have the talent to teach music. This was a huge opportunity to bring more arts into the school that many schools don't have to offer anymore, but we just don't have anyone to do it.

It frustrates me because I did chorus for most of my school life, learned piano, and even took AP Theory and Harmony. But I was never that good. It was something I always wanted to be good at, but I wasn't. And this is just reminding me how I don't have talent in that area.

Reach out to parents and local artists? Surely there's someone in the community willing to help out. I do my lego group with one of the parents, and we don't even have a teacher.

Pressed the wrong button on the prescription signing pad at CVS today and got opted in to receive texts. This immediately sends me into hulk mode internally because I get beyond irrational when it comes to shit like this. I dont need text reminders from CVS, I dont need text reminders for the dentist, or the barber, or stop and shop, or to let me know I've taken a shit. Fucking stop, world.

Anyway, I hold it in and smile politely to the receptionist while acknowledging she has no power over it and it is a system made by someone who should be anally skewered with iron rods. I proceed to call the number on the sheet of paper she gave me with details of how to undo this. Past office hours.

Oh no.

Cvs.com time. Dig around through a website designed by a toddler with downs and finally find a 866 number with longer hours. Call and put on hold. Now I can handle elevator jazz, whatever. What I cannot handle is elevator jazz punctuated every 17 fucking seconds by a 30 second message about how much I fucking matter. At this point I am basically a walking bag of anger and rage. I hate this shit. I hate it so much.

Fail is that after like 10 minutes of this fuckery I get the nicest and most helpful customer service rep I've ever talked to who gets me off this list with absolutely no bullshit or haggling. I am forced to be equally polite and thankful and have nothing to do with my insane rants about corporate america and mexicans stealing jobs and nsa listening to me through my teeth and all this anger. I was supposed to make someone miserable all because they tried to upgrade my extra care card. Fuck.

Guess I'll watch some TV.

I took this last night from my house. A once tiny forest fire started by someone illegally camping in a closed area with an illegal camp fire has rapidly expanded burned about 25ish miles of coast line and is now coming down the ridge line across the valley from us. Been fire clearing for the last 4 days solid.

random win; i get to go to ny in october for nycc
random fail; there's a ta-ku concert and a dj shadow concert but i have nobody to go with and going out to big events on your own is super depressing.

edit - for me, anyway. i like sharing concert experiences w/ someone

you should still go to the concerts! no one will know you are there alone and the crowd will be just as into it as you.

So I'm 100% approved by the management company (board interview) and the bank for my mortgage. But the management company needs to submit last years financials to the bank. There's nothing they can use in lieu of. It's taking more time than it should and I want to move out of my current unit and close already. I'm not eager to suddenly acquire 82k in debt, but let's get this shit finished, dammit. Don't really want to pay another month's rent to the landlord. And 75% of my shit is already packed.
