i think the last voicemail i got was my parents, and i immediately called them back without listening to it and asked what they wanted. i also asked them not to leave me voicemails anymore.


i don't like talking on the phone, and voicemail is even worse. sound quality is ALWAYS shit, so i'm constantly saying "sorry didn't catch that" "what" "huh?" and it makes me feel fucking deaf. Teamspeak etc ftw. shit, even fucking skype is better than phone calls, and i loathe skype.



edit: Also, FWP of my own: I got a note from my property manager reminding me that guests are only allowed to spend the night 5 days of every 30. Also that we're not supposed to give out spare keys to anyone and we have to lock the door when we leave. The last I have no problem with, and I lock the door pretty compulsively, even when I'm home. The second I flat out refuse to abide by. There have been multiple occasions where my parents having a key has saved us both a HUGE amount of hassle. Further, giving my girlfriend a key has accomplished the same thing, since my parents are out of town so often now. The first... I can, begrudgingly, admit that that one is actually pretty important.

But man, I've really, really enjoyed having her over here all the time. I'm set up for the kind of entertainment we both enjoy (vidya, reading, more vidya) and she isn't, so it lets us spend time with each other and enjoy our hobbies, plus her roommate has cats. The awful sore throat I had a few weeks ago was definitely an allergic reaction to sleeping in the same apartment as those cats; it crops up (less severely) in sync with other allergy symptoms whenever I encounter another allergen... or go into that apartment for more than ~20 minutes. Anyway, she feels the same way, so bright side: we're starting to discuss moving in together. At this point we're just kinda throwing it around as an option months down the road, no real specifics, but it's still nice to entertain the thought.

So amazingly Best Buy would rather fully refund a 2500 dollar sale then throw me some sort of bone for having to wait two weeks to receive a defective entertainment center and wait another two weeks to get a new one, on top of what will now be a day and a half of paid leave lost over all this. Another fail, this one actually serious: My disability renewal was denied. In fairness to them, I am feeling much better. Not up to par with a normal person, but from where I was, a huge improvement.

The thing is, it costs ~$20,000 a month to keep me that way. And no disability means no insurance. No insurance means no treatment. No treatment means I become disabled again, and court some very serious risks in the process. Almost no-one dies of Crohn's... if they get treatment.

I'm going to start by calling my attorney tomorrow morning (and my hospital, who apparently submitted no documents?) to ask about appealing, but honestly, since their criteria is pretty narrow, I'm probably going to need to find a job I can actually fucking do.... that offers benefits. Since 99% of employers only offer benefits to full-time, and full-time is hard to get, plus the health limitations i still have... I'm probably boned. But we'll see. Maybe I can find something.

Bitch it clearly says on the back no sharps of sonys that's it, run it. Walked out with my discounted 70inch and never went back fuck that store.

Hate going into stores and knowing more about the products than the sales people. I know what I want, stop with your shit and give me free delivery.

On my Nexus 6, with Project Fi, I get free visual voicemail which is fine with me. I can read a fairly accurate speech to text message, but that isn't available for free from most carriers.

Regarding Melena's post. I doubt this will do anything now, but back when I was waiting on a delivery from Best Buy and they never came (was the delivery driver's first day, he missed 4 deliveries, found out later he was also fired) I was able to go to the home store I purchased it at and have an escalation form/complaint filled out. I took the day off work for the delivery. You may have to provide some documentation regarding your pay, but I got reimbursed. Might be too late for that now, though.

I have about 130 hours of vacation saved up so its not a lack of getting paid, just more the annoyance that at the end, I'll now be burning 10-12 hours for absolutely nothing
