A 10k race in October that I was signed up for suddenly got cancelled and relocated 6hrs away. All I got was an email refunding my entry fee with no explanation as to why it happened.
Boss decided to take on a huge job earlier than we normally do that was also an hours drive away so had to get in 2 hours early. Turns out the reason he needed extra manpower was because he told them we'd break down and haul out all the people's boxes too whole ch basically doubled our work load. Get there and find out we got about 300 boxes of crap to haul down several hallways to the elevator. Less than halfway thru the job the elevator breaks with one of our guys in it. So yep now we down a guy and gotta haul heavy shit down stairs. Elevator repair man shows up an hour later just long enough to get our guy out and blame us for overloading the elevator even though we were only about 1/3 rated loading and then left without fixing it. Get almost done and find out they might have another 200 or so boxes to do but they haven't sorted them yet. And my foot is still killing me. Also sad I wasn't the one trapped I the elevator. Would've got a much needed nap in
Shattered my phone screen at work after having woken up to a text from the landlord I was supposed to sign a lease with today saying that she no longer wanted to rent to me. Because she's worried about the fact that I ride a motorcycle and that I may not make enoguh to pay rent. That part I understand but the former I'm pretty pissed about.
I'm really down today.
He's worried about someone riding something that makes it easy peasy to cut yourself in half on a tree?
Shocking.
We're upgrading to a set of corner offices on our floor. Huzzah for better views.
Now you can watch our construction zone for me. Let me know if you see any homeless guys in there.
Are you working on the new building next to GC?
Nah we're doing the roadwork. It's all night work so you don't see us out there.
I drove through there after a meeting about a month or so ago and was surprised when they had that whole building down. It looks so empty over there now.
They took it down amazingly quick. I was baffled when I got back from being out of office for 2 weeks. It makes the whole area SO much better. You really get a sense for how large midtown is. I wish they would just put a park there. A lovely park on a billion dollar property.
Agreed. It makes the area look much more open and you can see more of GCT. It'd be weird if there were a park there, though. We're making a pedestrian plaza thing on the west side of the viaduct. Similar to the east side, but we'll have benches and shit over there. It's been delayed a long time because of utility relocation, but we're aiming to have the plaza done at the end of the year.
Should be nice when it's done. Planter with granite seatwall, bronze railings, accents, and benches.
Back from a fun vacation, I managed to miss the week long power outage at home from Hurricane Hermine, but that means I came home to a smelly house from no A/C all week and a fridge and freezer full of spoiled food. After throwing out all the spoiled food, the only thing left in my fridge is bottled water and a Britta pitcher. At least I won't be thirsty.
Raised my voice at the wife.
She entertained the thought of her bringing her pathetic ass little brother back into my house. Hell fucking no. The dude is absolutely worthless. I don't know why she and her sister play this ping pong game of taking care of this waste of oxygen. She guilt trips me that we have a huge house with rooms not being used, but that asshole caused a ton of damage within a few weeks last time I let his free-loading ass stay here. I really don't want to deal with him again. He's the definition of a lazy neckbeard. I really fucking hate this dude. His sight alone spikes my blood pressure.
God damn it's been a terrible week.
Fuck man. I already know it. He's going to eat something in my fridge that I was saving, and I'm happily going to break his fucking jaw.
So fucking pissed off right now. I feel like I'm surrounded by everything against me. Hate this god damn feeling.
That's rough, man. I'd stand your ground on it if you have the capital to burn with the wife. It'll pay off long term. I'd hit the safety valve and go get a beer with a buddy. Air it out.
Shit your house you should have some say in who lives there. Or really most of it assuming you paying for it. But offer a compromise you know he will fail like pay rent or do all the house work
