I'm not putting in a single fucking grade until Monday now.

With my union hat on, of course you shouldn't. Teachers are overworked to hell at the start of their careers. One of our newly qualified maths teachers has been consistently working 11-, 12-hour days since term started. They're going to burn out.

Don't enter grades outside of school hours. Don't contact students outside of school hours. Set up an auto-respond out-of-office reply from the second school shuts its doors to the minute you're back in the building.

Yes I've broken those rules myself, but that's the exception (coursework project over a holiday period, I'll occasionally check my email to respond to questions, but that's questions about the work, not about data entry). Normally my students know when I'm available and when I enter their damn grades. Have a kind chat with this numbnuts at the end of a class, tell him what the fuck's what.

Kids are in school for 5 hours of lessons a day. They get less than 2 hours of homework per day. I am in school for at least 8 hours each day. "School hours" in the week is several hours per day more than the teaching timetable. A kid emails me at 5, I'll be there (preparing for lessons, marking their homework, entering grades or sitting in a meeting) and more than likely respond. A kid emails me on the weekend? Sorry sport, you wait until Monday.

Do your job like a professional. Stop being lazy ffs. I remember in high school I had an english teacher send home a progress report where she hadn't graded 60% of the items on the report, but wanted a parent signature anyway. Do the job you get paid to do.

Um, these are assignments the kids had handed in that same day. I'm not obligated to put in grades immediately, and certainly when I'm not even home. It's called "your teacher has a life too, and I'll get to it at my leisure."

And no, I don't assign homework. My rate of turn-in is like 60% for work done purely in class. Homework is pointless.

You don't have a webcam? Most of them have a built in mic. I use studio headphones and my webcam as a mic >>>>>>>>>>>> headset imo
