Um, these are assignments the kids had handed in that same day. I'm not obligated to put in grades immediately, and certainly when I'm not even home. It's called "your teacher has a life too, and I'll get to it at my leisure."

And no, I don't assign homework. My rate of turn-in is like 60% for work done purely in class. Homework is pointless.

I'm working an overtime detail at a high school marching band competition. It's not worth the time and a half. It's indoor cause it's raining. It's 6 hours long (until 10pm). Thinking about pulling the fire alarm but they'll probably just come back in after its cleared up and finish even later.

It's a classic example of why good teachers are so few are far between. Those who truly love it and it because it's a calling versus a paycheck.

Salary has always meant you might work out side the typical 8 hour day. I don't leave work incomplete when I punch out for the day. Grading papers isn't backbreaking labor, but if you don't want to do it on the weekend schedule the deadline better to be able to grade and post during the week. Furthermore, if you can't do the job well, maybe it isn't for you.

The issue isn't about grading, or about communicating with a student after hours. The issue is about whiny and demanding emails being sent to me not once, not twice, but four times in a three hour period. I will get to the grading. It will probably happen at some point tomorrow. But harassing me on a Friday night when my lack of response should have signaled to you that I am unavailable to answer is not okay, and that is the reason I posted in this thread.

Leggings arent allowed at my pharmacy either, but the bosses dont care because there are bigger things to worry about. She seems to be flexing muscle because she has a superiority complex and wants everyone to know not to fuck with her and that she's a bitch and/or she was sent directly from the DM and is trying to make an impression.
