Maybe I am in the minority, but I like looking through all the special features a dvd can have. And yes, I am sure people upload them somewhere, but it's a lot more convenient to just pop in the dvd (or blue-ray), than to try and found out which features it had and go to various places to watch them.
This post will count as my first world problem.
My main concern is the bitrate of the image. Netflix is abysmal, or it was last time I used it. If I am watching something I am interested in, I refuse to watch it on anything but the BD. Additionally I have to be at optimal viewing distance, about 6' from the 60" plasma.
It is also extremely irritating to me when I come across a film that has a very high bitrate but they scrubbed all the grain out of the image, destroying the detail. For example if you ever watch Predator on blu-ray, the Ultimate Hunter Edition makes everyone look like a mannequin. The original release is better, despite the lower image bandwidth.
Another thing that pisses me off is people who stop at flashing yellow lights. And people who ride side by side on a highway at 5mph under the limit. I always take the bike now because I can just go between them, which is highly illegal here.
Approached an intersection as the light was turning to yellow....Except the yellow light wasn't working. Green > Short Pause > Red. Errrrch.
I always wonder if it is Ok to go through a red light that is out. Say the yellow and green works but not the red, doesn't that make it a stop sign when red?
I have an additional fail, I seem to be stuck in a cycle of caffeine. I'm not used to it and I was tired Sunday so I drank a lot of it. That caused me to stay up too late and so I was very sleepy today at work, therefore I drank even more. Now I am still awake at 1am and I try to be asleep by 9:30. Tomorrow I will be chugging even more caffeine than I was today....
stop lights at intersections become stop signs if the power is out. But if you know the power is working, and the light is just out it's the same as if you were running the red light.
New job starts Monday, current job offered me overtime through Saturday to help with the numbers for August. Would be 24 hours of OT if I work full shifts on the 3 days.
Good thing the next 6 weeks will only be training, because Nnnnnnnng this is going to suck.
Third post about this damn car this month.... Had it working for a week, then it cut off a couple of times and started sputtering when I was driving. Finally died again omw to work and hasn't been working since. Hoping it's not something expensive, especially since I've spent so much in the past two months. Also mailing off an application for my states air check program. Done with this damn car........
Your avatar is oddly relevant lol.
You need to find a legit mechanic otherwise you're just throwing your money away.
P. Sure lemon laws only last 1-2 weeks =(
Nope, in AZ if your car goes into the shop 3 times over the course of a year for the same problem Bam! Lemon law. i think it's a year, it's a good length of time.
I'll have to look in to the lemon law thing. Never heard about it until today. Texas has an air check program to reduce emissions. If the car is over 10 y/o, and you meet certain financial requirements (which my wife and I do, thankfully) you're eligible for up to $3500 towards a new car from the state. I've got all the documentation needed to to file an application for this program, but I need the vin and license plate numbers. Which of course, are on the car at the shop... Last I called, they're swamped (as usual, their prices can't be beat out here) so I have to wait to find out what's wrong, and so I can get those numbers.......... Gonna hopefully mail that application today and hope I qualify!
Edit: Found the vin/license plate numbers on a receipt. Mailed just now. Wish me luck, BG! I need it........
Lt finally fixed the bug in his program that was keeping the webcam we use for taking ID card pictures from working with Windows 7 only to find out the 4 year old ID card printer bought the farm and now we have to get a new one.
rofl, owned. Where are you stationed?
I dunno man, I'm actually trying to find this and not having much luck.
