shiro, do you have any idea why your bench is lagging?
I bet he doesn't have a man with short flappy shorts to stand near his head and spot for him with balls in his face which is obviously why gay men are in such good shape because they always have that benefit
blarg is right, maybe you need my balls in your face, shiro
My technique is bankrupt and I have long arms for my height.
2.5 lb jumps/session is pretty respectable, that's over a 100 lb increase in the course of a year (not expecting to sustain it for the entire year though). Press is still steadily going up in 2.5 lb increments too (97.5 at the moment, will hit 100 tomorrow).
My anthropometry seems pretty biased towards squats & deadlifts weirdly enough. My 5RM of squats is 230x5 but I'm deloading to work on form because my back was getting a bit wonky even though I was hitting proper depth, and my deadlift is 265x5 and is tidily going up in 10 lb increments. I'd like if I could have a 3 plate DL by the end of April but I think I'll probably have to switch over to 5lb jumps once I get around 295.![]()
in retrospect, maybe the reason that my power clean is so decent relative to my bench is that i can deadlift way more than i can bench and the first pull of a power clean is basically just a deadlift
sometimes when I do squats (bodyweight like a boss) the tendon or whatever on the outside of my right knee seems to move around and go to the outside of my leg a bit. It's one of those things that feels unnaturally gross for some reason
this is the weirdest conversation i've ever read, backing away slowly
so you seem to enjoy the advantage of being short when it comes to deadlifts and squats but you got the arms of a tall person making your bench lag?
blarg is probably tall because he looks so lanky
Basically, yeah. It'll come along, it'll just take a bit longer. At the moment, my yearly goals are a bench/squat/dead total of 850-900(should be able to nail this one no problem), 1 plate press, and a bodyweight power clean. I'd also like to do a 50lb weighted pull/chin. Fuck dips for now, they don't mesh well with my training when I'm actually doing squats/pulls.
I'd rather put up bigger numbers on the squat/deadlift in the short term, if only because they transfer much better to everyday stuff. Functional is such a bad word, but bench definitely is less functional than any of the other lifts I do, including
fairly average 5 10 - 6 foot. I don't actually know but I'm as tall as a few friends and I just copy the height that they tell me they are
blarg you are taller than your sig
i've had sigs of for over a year and this dude i worked with today lurks spam, went to his desk and seeing everyones sig was like bizarro spam
The only way I Identify people is the first letter of their name + avatar or sig.
