I went from 103.1 to 104 bonecraft in 21 Hydra Mail synths. I did 16 more after hitting 104 and didn't get any skillups. Gavial Mail and Hydra Mail are still not showing up at the NPC. Everytime I check the veteran list, I get thrown off by all the "subligarias"

I generally assume skill ups at that level are 25% chance at best. While the odds are hella slim, it's possible you just did not get a skill up, really .9 out of 37 synths is average, while .9 from 21 is very lucky. Once again, that probably is the cap, just saying...

Actually I've usually been getting pretty good. Gold from 98-104 was at least 33% average as was bone from 100-103. Cooking on the other hand has been killing me

In case anyone was wondering, you can't desynth hexed gear. I test-servered a bunch of Alchemy NQs to see if I could desynth them to reclaim Ethereal Squama, but no luck. It would have kind of made sense considering that only the HQs are worthwhile and most of the synths have very difficult to obtain ingredients, but I guess SE isn't in the habit of making sense.

Cant desynth Phrygian ring either...then again, i never tried desynthing blenmot rings either. Perhaps in their haste to shitout incomplete content they didnt even bother putting desynths? All the previous cursed gear can be desynthed.

Hexed Coif
Hexed Doublet
Hexed Gages
Hexed Slops
Hexed Nails

The NPC refuses to give me any other recipes. Good luck to us all on reaching level 110.

Finally wrapped up all my subs to 70...Are there any other options post 100 for alchemy?

Sun Water caps at 102. GL!

I'm 0/12 on skillups with Macron since hitting 102. This means two levels of Ethereal Squama synths before we can start T1ing our first Hexed gear.

Also, Hexed Slops are 106.

Did you have a strategy to get cactuar roots beyond buying them off the AH when they pop?

No. They're a zone drop from Altepa Abyssea NMs (low drop rate, also shows up in chests) and that's the major supply. The only way to really get them is to camp AH like it's your job.

this new synth cap update is irking me to hell. Shits so not thought out its just retarded. Why didnt they add any of the new ores/ingots etc. as farmable new items into ifrits couldreon/mount zhayolm etc. Do they REALLY expect us to get that shit via dead VW fights?! how retarded can you be to think that -_- FUCK

he mentioned cursed sabatons too, which is according to wiki a 98 cap...

Just got Bonecraft to 104, and Hydra Mail is not showing up on the list of items fromt he NPC that lists items by rank, does that mean I can go to 105 on Hydra Mails?

Also interestingly, Dark Ixion Ferrule is showed up on the list. I assume that means it caps at 104? It's not showing up on the NPC that tells me to maked Winged Balance/Hexed hands/feet/legs any more either. I spammed it 30x and he didn't ask me to make Dark Ixion Ferrule once.
