I realized there's one thing that can make me ok with the Rock winning the belt:
Him potentially getting it changed from the stupid ass Spinner Belt to a legit looking one.
Another plus is that Punk will likely cut a good promo tonight.

Heyman is supposed to cut some kind of nice promo tonight as well; I'll be watching for that, because hey, I'm a Heyman guy.
If that's the case, I hope Austin comes back just to throw it in the river. But yeah, the spinner belt is super tacky and needs to be done away with.
Speaking from a business perspective though, the spinner belt is still selling like cupcakes, which is why they won't be that willing to change it just yet.
I wish I could go back to viewing wrestling in that mystical way, back when I thought that shit could actually happen. I remember watching Taker vs Jeff Hardy in that ladder match on RAW for the undisputed title.... hoping that Jeff would actually win. The cynic in me laughs at that poor schmuck now lol.
I really hope 2 things happen with this title reign: Rock changes the spinner belt for good (doubtful, again, it's all about the money...), and Punk goes back to being an entertaining character. I hope this long reign won't be an excuse for Vince to keep Punk out of the title picture for the next decade now, either.
I don't get the hate for Rock ending Punk's reign. Who cares if hes a part timer? He is a living legend. It adds way more credibility to Punk to lose his long title reign to someone like the Rock than some up and comer main eventer. I don't want to see the Rock be champion for too long. And I hope he will be pretty regular on the show while he is. But theres nothing wrong about Punk losing the belt to the Rock.
Also theres rumors the spinner belt is gonna be changed tonight.
I don't mind that it's to Rock, per se, but it's more of a storyline issue... a part-time guy who wrestled once in 2012, beating the champion of 434 days who beat pretty much everyone to keep that belt around his waist, by utilizing an elbow to the chest? I know I know, overthinking this, but still haha.
It is refreshing to have a different champion though, and Punk's character has become stale so it's a welcomed breath of fresh air.
Oh and to all the doubters that think it wasn't The Shield that attacked Rock at the rumble...

The Rock did have a custom made Brahma Bull WWE championship belt made years ago much like Austin's Smoking Skull belt, but it was never used on TV and to my knowledge has only been seen before in The Rock's trophy case when he does interviews from his home.

I don't think it could get worse than....

At least Hardy carries that ALONG with the actual world title belt, not instead of it (then again, that TNA heavyweight title looks just as ridiculous..)
Yeah that TNA belt looks like some fake copper found on kiddie toys.
Again, to me, the only really awful part of the Punk losing was the People's Elbow being what did it.
I think we all wish we could go back and root for Mr. Perfect instead.
I like how after Cena's match not many cheered for Cena and actually could hear boos. Also, the tremendous "Cena Sucks" chant is awesome.
Incoming Cena+Sheamus+Ryback vs Shield at EC.
The fact he said that it will be either Punk or Rock makes me believe that the WWE Title will not have an EC match... maybe Cena/Ryback/Sheamus vs Shield will be a tag team EC match? Would be an interesting concept to see.
Was thinking that would be the case lol. Tbh, they could definitely have The Rock behind this entire situation since they plan to title Cena at Mania. Just say he did this so the interference stipulation would take place and that he had hired them to attack various people etc.
