General WWE Discussion: Roman Weeps, Taker Retires, MNK/SAM/RDM LFP

So, G1 last night. As the tournament goes on, I'll probably start to skip the undercard, but it was pretty strong last night. I didn't see the first tag, but I was told it was decent even though only I think 2 of 8 participants are in G1. The other 3 tags were better than most "pre-break" tags on NJPW shows, so I was glad I caught them.

As for the tourney matches themselves, Tenzan/Ishii was predictably great, and the final 2 were also as awesome as expected. The other two, meh.

so really, the people they draft for NXT have to be high numbers right? Speaking in kayfabe. Lets take Balor. He beat Owens for the NXT title, so you would want to take him pretty high. I could see Cena, Styles, Lesnar, Ambrose, Reigns, Rollins, New Day, Charlotte going in the top. After that, Wouldn't you take Joe, Nakamura, Asuka, Bayley, Balor before anyone else?

Asuka beat Bayley who beat Sasha who beat(in a 4 way) Charlotte. So Asuka would be someone you would want.
Joe and Nakamura beat Balor who beat Owens who beat Sami so they would logically get picked before.

I'm putting waaaaay too much thought into this. Probably call up some random big people like Strowman or a woman like Nia Jax and better people in NXT out of stupidity.

Also, I am assuming they are going to have the draft be like raw gets a pick, SD gets 2 picks, raw gets 3 picks, sd gets 2 picks, raw gets 2 picks and repeat since they said raw gets more picks. So Raw is going to have more top talent, making SD look weak. They should have just done 1 and 1 and floated more lower end talent onto the Raw side at the end.

NXT pulls don't have to make sense since they're proooobably not going to take out the champions and immediate challengers to the championship. Balor's done with the belt and so far, that's always been a surefire sign someone was on the way up. Joe still holds it, so that's not as likely. NXT Brooklyn isn't for another few weeks, isn't it? I can't see them pulling out the main event to send to the main rosters.

Then again, it'd be really dumb so I guess that leaves it on the table.

Absolutely. I could see it being done for Balor and American Alpha but that leaves 4 and I have no idea. Bayley is a good bet, Nakamura would be ideal but I see them leaving him in NXT for a while. If they do pull Joe up as champion I could see it being a repeat of KO's angle, with him losing the title shortly after to Shinsuke and then full-timing on Raw.
