Honestly surprised a sports network hasn't scooped up Renee yet. Maybe look out for that soon.
This has gotta be one of the dumbest decisions by WWE in recent history. No one is going to believe it was a budget cutting cost like with the recent pyro change, it's blatant pettiness that everyone called out in this thread when it came time to "SHAKE THINGS UP" after wrestlemania. SDL will never be allowed to be over Raw for any extended period length of time.
I'm legit annoyed by it.
Puts heat on 205 live. Wwe playing 4d chess.
I blame this all on Daniel Bryan being a shitty GM and not trading for the entire Cruiserweight division.
Also, G1 press conference is starting soon. I'm sure if there's any "I'll do my job, which is get good matches out of all these pieces of shit" it'll be plastered all over reddit in hours, but in case anybody wanted to watch it live, it's coming up. I'm particularly looking forward to EVIL.
lol. They're facing off on Night 1, so some shit-talking was expected, but Naito calling out Ibushi for being a filthy part-timer that didn't deserve to be in the tournament was great. Enjoy starting off 0-1, Tetsuya. We'll all enjoy the rematch as the main event for the case at one of the Destruction shows or the semi-main of KoPW.
Tama Tonga ranting forever about the G1 and that having to be translated was hilarious.
Also, Kenny got the prime spot for mugging during other people's speeches. Best one was when EVIL was up there: https://streamable.com/g8yko
Reminder for those that don't subscribe to njpwworld but may be interested, Night 1 is again free, and here are the tournament matches:
A-Block: Yuji Nagata vs. YOSHI-HASHI
A-Block: Togi Makabe vs. Bad Luck Fale
A-Block: Hirooki Goto vs. Tomohiro Ishii
A-Block: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
A-Block: Kota Ibushi vs. Tetsuya Naito
those last 3 matches should be great and the first two could also be very good. I think they gave first 2 nights free last year, and if so, here's night 2:
Satoshi Kojima vs. Juice Robinson
Michael Elgin vs. Tama Tonga
SANADA vs. EVIL
Kazuchika Okada vs. Toru Yano
Minoru Suzuki vs. Kenny Omega
Okada getting that "rest day" in his first match.
This guy is my new favorite wrestler is he also yours?

You're just entertained by the fact that he worked neoliberalism into a promo
The Darryl-Hiromu stuff has been great. Whoever eventually attacks Darryl is going to have massive heat on them.
Watching some NJPW World (King of Pro Wrestling 2015) and a match between Roppongi Vice and reDRagon just came up. I hope the latter does tag at some point in the Fed.
Hiromu Takahashi is one of the best things going today. He can even make a segment with Taichi entertaining without even needing subtitles.
So, went to the SDL house show. It was fun, as house shows always are, but had a weird 2nd half. I'll get to that.
Opener was Nakamura vs. Ziggler which was very surprising. Even more surprising was that, despite playing heel, Ziggler mostly got cheered over Nakamura. I'm chalking it up to being the racist south. Nak won with the KINSHASAAAAAAA.
Next was an odd 6 man tag feature Primo, Erick Rowan, and Aiden English vs. American Alpha and Sin Cara. Aiden English got NUCLEAR heat, I mean the heat of the night, with his singing and trash talking. It was a good match. Ended when American Alpha hit Grand Amplitude on English.
Next was a completely heatless match between Zack Ryder and Rusev. Crickets. Rusev won with the Accolade. Immediately after, they ran a promo for Cena/Rusev at Battleground. It probably would have served the crowd better for that promo to air BEFORE the Ryder/Rusev match to get heat on Rusev, but alas.
Next was a triple threat tag team match for the SDL tag titles between Usos, Breezeango, and New Day. Usos surprisingly got big face reactions, but New Day and Breezeango was also greeted with a warm reception. This was 100% a comedy match with a lot of fun spots, the best was probably a spot where Breeze attempted to suplex Big E, but was unsuccessful twice. Big E then started a chant for Tyler to get him excited for a third attempt, but ultimately Tyler surrendered and got himself suplexed. Usos retained with a cheap shot/roll up on Fandango.
Intermission, GO BUY A SHIRT. I didn't. Got a $6 collectible cup with my Coke with I proceeded to almost immediately spill in a shoddy seat cup holder. Oh well.
Now, the 2nd half of the show was just weird.
Opened up with a 4 on 3 handicap women's match. Nattie, Lana, Tamina, and Carmella vs. Charlotte, Naomi, & Becky Lynch. Pretty much all of the women got great reactions except for Tamina who got crickets. Lana was terrible, and she worked most of the match for the heel side. I guess she needs the experience. Ends with Naomi pinning Lana after a Rear View.
Next is Sami Zayn vs. Baron Corbin. Zayn played the "that punch concussed me" thing and played dead with a ref for a few minutes which took the crowd out of it because they thought he might have been legit hurt. Crowd was flat the rest of the match. Corbin pinned Zayn clean as a sheet after an End of Days.
Main event was Jinder Mahal vs. AJ Styles for the WWE Championship. Immediately this gave me a sense of dread because I knew Jinder would win. Originally it had been advertised as an exhibition match which would have given it leeway for AJ to win, but nope. Jinder won with the Cobra Clutch slam after some shenanigans from the Singh Brothers. Crowd DID NOT like that. AJ got some heat back to send people home happy by hitting the Singh Bros with chairs and a Styles Clash. Match was 90% Jinder beating down AJ and it made for a very boring bout. Disappointing.
Thanks for coming and buy the WWE Network and all that jazz.
Overall it was going towards a good house show until the weird second half, trending towards a thumbs down because of the 2nd half.
Someone forgot to remind Ibushi and Naito that this is Night 1 of G1, not Wrestle Kingdom. Those two are absolute madmen.
Incredible match between Naito and Ibushi.
In other news, AAA fucked over Taya. All I know so far is that it has something to do with stripping her of the title.

https://twitter.com/Seanoward4/statu...77210165747712Sexy Star quit after being whiny for a fucking age. AAA then absolutely screwed Taya, monumentally so, and... put the belt back on SS! Joke!
Essentially, they decided that they wanted the belt on Sexy Star(after Taya won it in a street fight match). They called Johnny Mundo saying they wanted to do a photo shoot with the belts and they wanted to do some photos of the women's belt as well(since he and Taya are married). During the shoot, they kept the women's belt saying they wanted to do some more shots with it alone elsewhere.
Next thing you know, they say they stripped Taya because she used an "illegal" choke to win. Except it was a street fight. So then they said the rules were pinfalls or submissions and being choked out isn't a submission.
Johnny Mundo has a bunch of fucking AAA belts(heavyweight and light heavyweight) and I bet he is pissed right now. Taya is obviously not going to work for them anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't either.
