The Sexy Screwjob?
The Sexy Screwjob?
Wow, that makes the Brett Screwjob look like it was nothing. With AAA's parternship with LU, I wonder if Johnny and Taya will even be back for S4.
I doubt we ever see Season 4 at this point.
Don't forget Pentagon and Fenix. They had lightning in a bottle and they messed it up.
Not sure what happened with them. Shocked at how quickly they took the belt off of Fenix in S2 after beating Mil Muertes, and Pentagon was/is fucking over. Hell I've never been a big fan of hardcore matches, and he actually dragged a watchable match out of an old and out of shape Vampiro.
The short version is that LU is horribly mismanaged, and hemorrhages money. The shitshow that is AAA and their close relationship with LU is a large factor as well.
Alot of the talent associated with it are very unhappy as well, and have expressed it publicly. Many of them (Ricochet being the major example) signed long term contracts with the show, and if the show isn't running they're not getting paid and can't work TV in the US.
That's fucking awful. I looked into Ricochet's and I guess his contract, even though he opted out at the mid season finale, he still can't compete until S3 is finished airing. So guessing that's the same for a bunch of others.
Drago is working with not-TNA, I think Aerostar is as well? Dragon Azteca Jr is working indies as Rey Horus. Forget who else is pissed at LU right now.
Saw this on Reddit. This is why a reason why WWE treats its fans like idiots. Spoiler for huge.
Spoiler: show
Watching G1 right now, fucking loving the clothesline spots from Goto vs Ishii
To be fair the headbutts they're doing are infinitely safer then what Shibata does/did
Also, Jesus Christ those Destino sells by Ibushi were fucking beautiful
Honestly, any promotion that has Mundo, Ricochet, Drago, Pentagon, Fenix, Mil Muendes should be running circles around the competition. Even the midcard with Son of Havoc, Ivilese, Anjelico, Sexy Star, Aerostar, Superfly, etc was handled so much better than what TNA or WWE has done with it's midcards and tag teams.
Two things there, Ricky Banderas (Mil Muertes) actually isn't that great of a worker. They've done fantastic character work with him in LU which helps cover up some of his subpar in ring stuff.
Second, Sexy Star is garbage and will always be garbage, no matter how much AAA or LU tries to sell us on her. If you really watch her matches she is carried by her opponent so much it's unreal.
That being said, you left Matanza (Jeff Cobb) off the list and that dude is fucking lights out.
Yeah Jeff Cobb is a freak. I'm also a fan of Cage even though he's juiced to the gills. Everyone there seemed to put in 110% and it showed. It's a shame what's happened because of AAA.
Tanahashi vs ZSJ was a really good match.
Didn't list Matanza as I haven't gotten that far. Last episode I watched was Aztec Warfare II when he came in at 21 and destroyed everyone.
As for Banderas (Muertes), he's definitely not the best in ring worker, but I don't think he's had a stinker of a match. Star I've only seen from LU as well, while not the best, I'd say she'd be top tier WWE pre diva's revolution when AJ and Paige's backs should have been broken carrying that clusterfuck of a division.
