General WWE Discussion: Roman Weeps, Taker Retires, MNK/SAM/RDM LFP

WWE does love their moronic "controversial" finishes and/or hot potato changes to extend the feud. The problem is they did both with this here. Summerslam will probably be a great match, but they're probably going to have to slap on some unnecessary gimmick to that or the rematch at the following show.

Other than the Usos/New Day opener which was really good, and a pretty decent preshow Dillinger/English match, this show was terrible. Worst PPV of the year in my opinion.

So i finally subscribed to njpw world, and do not regret it, been catching up on some G1 matches at work. Just saw Elgin v. Okada, good lord! There were some moments where in my head i went "O MY GAWWWWWWWWWD!" In Joey Stiles's voice.

Oh, I was actually entertained by this match even though I have no investment in this Samson. Then Bray Wyatt predictably ruined it.

With this much time til Summerslam, how will they fill time with Joe, Roman, and Braun? Will they each get a week when they can book matches for the others and we get a recreation of the time when Cena and Orton ran through the rest of the roster?

This show is all downhill since Bray Wyatt appeared. Maybe I should appreciate this match/segment for how truly terrible it was and find humor in it?

Current WWE isn't as bad as the occupation era, but there is something super off that makes the shows not enjoyable to watch. I'm not sure if (for me personally) it's because the alternative of NJPW is super entertaining seeing almost all competitors going 110% all the time. Or, the fact the stories are based around the fights for the most part. I really want to enjoy WWE because there is so much top tier talent, but damn it the writing, which in return determines the in ring action, is so frustrating that it makes me not want to watch.

Meltzer was talking about it before and after Battleground yesterday.

After such an amazing week from NJPW, WWE's product looks fucking lame as hell right now for serious fans. I mean shit, Fale and a stuffed animal had more emotional weight to it then most of the E's recent product.

And to even the non hardcores, Battleground was really fucking bad. Other then the Usos/New Day it was all complete garbage.

See...they announce the 4 way for SummerSlam, but next week is a three-way between everyone but Brock. Who cares? Nothing is at stake. Would've been better off doing three singles matches showing off each individuals dominance.
