General WWE Discussion: Roman Weeps, Taker Retires, MNK/SAM/RDM LFP

Im not gonna argue that either. But one guy getting a bigger pop doesn't mean the other guy didn't get one. And Dolph did indeed get a huge pop. The question is, can he maintain something like that? One off circumstances often get amazing pops. The Rock got a HUGE one when he returned before WM27.

While I'm not disagreeing, Dolph Ziggler pokes a huge hole into that argument (who got a bigger pop last night than Rock at WM, but that could have been from a closed arena opposed to open stadium)

It does have something to do with it being an open stadium. I forget which video it was, but I was watching a WWE video and a lot of guys were saying they thought the crowd wasn't paying attention or they were boring because even they couldn't here anything really, but later heard the crowd was going nuts.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the crowd is miced and they can manipulate the levels a bit for TV?

Not that I'm trying to take anything away from the Rocks original return, far far from it.

We must've been watching different Wrestlemanias. Rocky didn't get booed out of the building, but there was an undeniably large portion of the crowd that made it clear they didn't want to see either him or Cena in there.

We clearly were. Rock got a pretty decent pop.

Wow, so just because it's not up to Rock standards means he got booed now? Look at your original comment. I said he wasn't being booed. Not many things get huge pops anymore. Ziggler's cash in did, but I honestly doubt he will maintain that level of a pop for very long.

YES chants started before WM itself even started. I remember taking a piss an hour or 2 before the show started and everyone standing at a urinal started chanting YES. People in line for a burger... YES. People buying shirts.. YES. Shit was EVERYWHERE in that stadium.

No, you originally said "Poor rock, he only came back to be booed." When the fact of the matter is he got a good pop at Wrestlemania and the only time he got booed is when mentioned as a rematch with Cena because nobody wants to see that a 3rd time. And like I said, nobody gets consistent huge pops anymore. Rock did when he came back, but hes not going to every week. If he goes away for a bit and comes back, it'll be huge again.

No, read what I wrote. I'm saying he got booed and the cheers he did get were nowhere near the Rock standard of "decent." He also got booed when he was mentioned on Raw, and I don't know, I just have not felt the crowd being behind him at all since the Rumble.

I don't think he disagrees with the opinion that his current "pop" doesn't match the level he had prior, but he is disagreeing with the opinion that one could unanimously describe the WM crowd's reaction as "booing." Perhaps you didn't intend to make this claim, but the original post does state that.

Also, I saw that WWE was giving refunds for people that did the online stream that had technical difficulties. You have to e-mail them and let them know about it, first.

Yeah, can't really blame the fans for being put off by a champ that can't be there every week though. I think the Rock did a lot better part time with the WWE when he wasn't champ. Likewise, nobody wants to see Rock vs Cena Thrice in a Lifetime. If the Rock does use his rematch, I hope theres a new champion by then.
