lol Corporate Kane. Love it!
lol Corporate Kane. Love it!
This could be BS but I heard they might do a champion vs champion main event at WM and possible unite the titles. If that does happen would they reserve a match like that for people like Cena vs Orton or would Dbry, Punk, or anyone else actually have a shot at winning a title by then and taking part?
I guess in order for that to happen someone that doesn't have a title would have to win the rumble and then win the title they didn't chose for WM at some point in between the rumble and WM. Maybe at Elimination Chamber or whatever PPV they have in between this year.
Some reports are saying that Summerslam low buyrate is partially being blamed on Daniel Bryan's small size. This may end up with us having to say goodbye to our hopes of him winning the RR and getting the WWE title at WM
Fucking Vince.
Yea of course they would blame it on Bryan and not the hastily thrown together Kane vs Wyatt match (I love Bray, that match just really didn't have a long enough buildup), ADR vs Christian (love Christian but ADR can't hold the fans interest which is sad, the guy is a good worker).
The fact I couldn't even remember the matches on the SS card aside from DB's is probably reason enough why its sale rate suffered. Then again, I'm of the mind the PPVs are overpriced.
The argument could also be made that you had both John Cena and HHH in that match as well, plus Brock Lesnar vs. CM Punk...there is no way they can but all the blame on DB.
I thought the reason it had low buyrates was because of that leaker spoiling all the PPVs lately.
Same old Vince. Same old.Daniel Bryan's WWE future might not be what many fans were hoping for, if PWInsider's latest reports are true. Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting that Daniel Bryan's run as a top star and main eventer might be coming to an end as he's taking some of the blame for the low buyrates during his short run in that position.
The feeling in WWE is that Daniel Bryan simply isn't a "larger than life" character fans are ultimately looking for, and that his best position is in the mid-card having great matches.
To the contrary, however, The Big Show's recent push is reportedly a result of WWE wanting bigger guys back in the spotlight. It's the reason he has moved into the main event program with Randy Orton and the McMahons and why guys like Luke Harper and Great Khali have been given more TV time as of late.
Because fans were really clamoring for Big Show in the main event slot. Right.
Pay $50 for a 2.5 hour show you can't rewatch? Hop to Redbox and get a movie for $0.99 you can watch repeatedly for a day?
We know you're rich and all, Vince, but times are a bit rough for middle and lower class. Guys like DB and Punk aren't huge monsters, but ironically they seem to be getting the biggest fan reactions just for stepping into the arena. Yes, the big guys get their moments from time to time, too, but it's usually at the climax of their appearances. Orton is bland. Show is worse than Cena in the 5 moves of doom department. ADR holds no appeal for me because the NATIONAL PRIDE HEEL angle is overdone and, in this case, simply handled poorly. Something more could've happened with Ricardo and their split, but I don't think I've seen him since RVD lost at the last PPV. Pushing the Wyatts isn't working for me, but maybe because throwing a bunch of gibberish onto the titantron with random frame switches doesn't work for people who aren't dumb, high, or drunk. You're pushing the Divas too much as reality show sex symbols than actual wrestlers, and the lack of doing the latter well shows in the ring. I'm coming around to feeling Cesaro is being squandered in the tag division. At the very least they dropped his NATIONAL PRIDE HEEL angle a while back, or at least shifted it onto Zeb. Still no love for the tag division, either, but I do think the Cody and Golddust angle has been going well. But the moment they lose the belts I'll go back to not caring about them as I find the Usos totally lacking in charisma as the next face team on the list.
I think what's been missing from some of the rivalries they've tried to establish is the sense that you don't know who will win or what will happen. Let's ignore the leaker for a moment. I bet 95%+ of fans don't even know about him. They established a trend that DB was going to get boned. Not once, not twice, but three times now on PPVs. Four if you count his 18s loss back in the day. People have a limit on accepting losses for an underdog. There was an uncomfortably long string of weekly shows where he got screwed, too. When it finally seemed like the tables were turning with the lockerroom jumping in for him or at least a few other guys? Screw them, too. This isn't Game of Thrones, Vince. You can't metaphorically kill a guy just because you can and hope for positive responses. Invincible heels are just as bad, if not worse, than the Super Cena or Sheamus others decry. And let's not forget about giving the Rock the belt for a few months.
I know it's a prevailing sentiment that the average wrestling fan has a very short attention span and memory, but I think that is what's actually biting them right now. People are remembering. And if they aren't, showing the same clip on Raw 3-4 times brings them up to speed pretty quick.
It just blows my mind. Does Vince think Summerslam would've sold more if the headline had been Cena vs Big Show? Ugh, no. There are more factors at play than who is in your main event. The rest of your card sucked aside from Punk/Lesnar, economy sucks, etc etc.
Blaming the small guys has always been an issue. Remember last year when it was Punk's fault for the low buyrates up till he lost the belt to Rocky? Yea, the kids love the Cena's and "larger than life" guys like Sheamus, Big Show, etc, but the people who are going to be supporting you, the wrestling fans who have been around since the 80's-90's, they want good wrestling. The only time they want to see Khali in a ring is if Cessario is giving him the spin of death.
If low buy rates...WHEN low buy rates continue, vince wont change his stance, he will blame something else.
Kane in charge, awww yes!
So Zeb just conned 20k British people into saying "we the people" lol... that's great.
How did he con them? They seemed to do it willingly because they seem to be a contrary crowd.
Man, could we see a 12 man survivor series match with the Wyatts and the Shield on the same side?
Kane in charge and no inferno matches, no buried alive matches, nothing. The authority ruined the monster!!!
More like Vickie and Brad ruined it. I would've been down with a full episode run by Kane. But he got to setup 1 match.
shit wait I have more to add: No one was set on fire, Pete Rose wasnt tombstoned...FUCK THE AUTHORITY
honestly, I didnt even get to watch it, was at work, read the recap though.
Spoiler: show
Me and the Funker this weekend...
