According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, there is speculation that WWE might be planning to have Batista return to the company prior to the Royal Rumble, then win the Royal Rumble match and go on to challenge Randy Orton for the WWE World Title at WrestleMania 30.

Scenario I could see - DB first entrant, Batista is the "surprise" entrant for #30 setup to prevent him from winning. Inteference/screw job etc, Batista wins. DB then faces off him with at next PPV for the title shot, letting Batista give DB another push and a title shot at Wrestlemania. And Batista goes back to Hollywood.

Watched "50 years" video yesterday. Felt like a rehash of how the Attitude Era helped win back fans. Although, there was a bit about Bruno.

Very excited for Batista to come back. I read it's not necessarily part time, but it's not like he's now permanently back either.

After the RR, DB can finish his feud with the Wyatts at Elimination Chamber and then go on and beat Orton for the title at RR. One can dream right? lol
