Apparently JBL and El Torito were late replacements for Wade Barrett and Xavier Woods.

He stopped a live TV match because he cut his finger.

He got cut because he was "injured" every week.

He has no one to blame but himself for his failure in WWE. Hunico came into the company with an identical background of lucha style wrestling. Unlike Sin Cara though Hunico willingly went down to FCW to work on the WWE style before coming up to the main roster and there can be no argument on the fact that Sin Cara was at his best in WWE when it was Hunico under the mask regardless of who he was in the ring with. Add onto that his getting hurt and apparently refusing to even try and learn english and he had quite a bit going against him.

Oh I absolutely agree that he could have made a go of it, just seemed like he only wanted to wrestle the way he had in Mexico and that just wasn't going to fly with the roster. I just read about him refusing to learn English today. Stupid. Having difficulty is one thing, flat out refusing is another.

lol with Del Rio right? I believe he dislocated his finger, not cut it. I was there, it was the RAW in Anaheim back in August.
Everyone was just confused as hell, and ADR just threw him back in the ring for a quick count to actually make any sort of sense of what was going on.

Makes you wonder what would happen in a Sin Cara/Jeff Hardy match. Stipulation being first to be incapable of continuing the match wins?

Early Smackdown spoilers for another EC match entry and another potential one.

    Spoiler: show
Antonio Cesaro defeated Dolph Ziggler to qualify for a spot in the chamber. Kind of surprised by this one as they haven't really seemed to get behind him for that big of a push yet. Later tonight Christian will face Jack Swagger for the last spot meaning no CM Punk or Brock Lesnar in the chamber.

Wow, surprised but happy with that pick.

I never expected Punk or Lesnar in there anyway. Lesnar too parttime to put himself through something like the chamber. And Punk has a date with Kane.

Hearing rumblings that Sting has signed a WWE legends contract. I'll believe it when I see it.

Edit: Sounds like he may be used more for the WWE Network then actual wrestling. Source is from Rob Feinstein.

And Christian gets the final spot after defeating Swagger and they begin to tease more dissension between Swagger and Zeb. I expected Punk would be facing Kane at EC myself also but still just surprised Cesaro and Christian got the last two spots. Brock probably would be a bad choice to put in there unless he was going to win it once I think about it but the way they been pushing his wanting to fight Orton for the title the past few weeks I figured it would be the only chance he gets at the belt for months.

Not surprised at the spoilers, but still disappointed in the second pick. Hope it's a good ppv.

TOP STAR PULLED FROM ALL WWE DATES GOING FORWARD FOLLOWING RAW MEETING
By Mike Johnson on 2014-01-29 02:10:09 Former WWE and World champion CM Punk has been pulled from all advertising of WWE live events going forward after a meeting with WWE management yesterday at the Raw taping in Cleveland, Ohio.
We have been working on details for the last 24 hours (as Dave Scherer and I noted on our respective Elite audios earlier today), but the belief among those who are willing to talk about the situation is that Punk is no longer factored into company plans. Punk is under contract to WWE through July.

Punk was slated to face Triple H at Wrestlemania 30. This past Monday's Raw instead began teasing Daniel Bryan vs. HHH down the line, possibly for Wrestlemania.

We have heard from several sources that the original script for yesterday's Raw called for Punk to wrestle Antonio Cesaro and lose after Kane interfered, allowing Cesaro to qualify for the Elimination Chamber. It should be noted that another source has denied that and claimed that Punk was never booked to wrestle last night and was only booked to do a promo that would follow up on Kane causing Punk's elimination from the Rumble. But, Punk was originally slated to be on Raw and those segments were yanked. He was not backstage during the taping and was not backstage at Smackdown.

It is believed that when Vince McMahon had the writers re-write Raw late yesterday (6 PM for a taping that was scheduled to start at 7:45 PM), it was because Punk had informed the company he was going home and wouldn't be back.

While we cannot 100% confirm why, the belief among wrestlers backstage is that Punk leaving was not an injury issue. It was described to us as more likely a case of burnout and unhappiness with the overall direction of the company. Punk had been very vocal in the past about the usage of returning and "part time" stars being pushed beyond wrestlers who were working full-time for the company.

In his interview with Ariel Helwani last week, Punk talked about the crazy schedule he's held up working for the company over the last decade. Punk said that he's been doing it ten years and doesn't know anyone else who can say that. He said that he's only taken time off for injuries and that when he took two months off in 2013, it may not have been long enough.

Punk, who worked about 50 minutes in the Royal Rumble match was described as "pissy" after the PPV, although that wouldn't be an unusual description of Punk's demeanor backstage.

One source believed that since Punk's last goal was to work a Wrestlemania main event, it may also be a situation where Punk realized it wasn't going to happen this year and with his WWE deal expiring in July, that may have weighed down upon him because he was so goal driven and this was one he couldn't accomplish because of elements that were outside of his control.

In the interview with Helwani, Punk was asked about WWE killing his momentum at times and why such things happen. Punk responded that he'd like to think they don't make those decisions on purpose and it's more they wanted to go in another decision. He claimed it's a different era and different time and it can't be looked at the same way he did when he was a kid.

Yesterday, Punk wrote on Twitter, "Thanks for all the support. Keep being you guys, it's pretty cool."

Depending on how you read the statement, it could be taken as a cryptic farewell.

We'll obviously update more as we confirm additional details.

While it would generally suck to see Punk go because of this part-timer push shit, there's also a part of me that hopes it does indeed open their eyes to how it's shitty for the fans and a snub to those who do slog through the trenches.

I'm glad he did that in the hopes it will open their eyes. I'm not a big D.Bry fan, but he is deserving as is others. I've wondered for awhile why Cesaro hasn't received a push towards at least the IC. It's as if WWE knows the fans want the anti-hero but put their head in the sand and do as they please.

You know what, as much as I'd hate to lose Punk, I don't blame him at all. I completely understand the reasoning for his frustrations. If I were in his position I'd probably feel the same way.

But then again, It's Punk and it could very well be a work.

Edit: Take this with a grain of salt, but part of the reason might also be that because of the RR reaction WWE was thinking of doing DB vs HHH instead of Punk vs HHH and Punk has always wanted to do a WM closing main evented and getting shafted out of a top match may have been the straw that broke the camel's back. What backs this up is that he didn't leave until after Raw when DB was inserted back with the Authority.

He clearly says in the Helwani interview that he's perfectly fine with Batista because he signed a long term deal. He mentions it specifically not being like the Rock last year. I think there's more here than we know.

Like I added in my edit, if this is legit the signs point to it about being the misuse of DB at the RR which would've potentially led to HHH vs DB instead of Punk. Basically fuckups from creative that might've resulted with Punk being the fall guy.

Even though the crowd was super pissed at the Rumble, people still went to the show. As long as people keep buying PPVs, subscribing to the network and buying shirts, Vince won't get the message. "Yea the crowd was booing, but we sold X amount of crap! We did good!". "CM Punk left, but it's not like people will stop watching because of it, so who cares!". They aren't going to do shit to address fan's concerns until they feel it in their wallet.

Their stock has been going up like crazy since they announced the network and projections say it will go up all year. I don't think they will be making any changes soon, regardless of how the fans feel.
