Sting signing seems confirmed this time. Everywhere is reporting it.
not sure how legit this is, but this is still drawing a lot of attention.ORIGINAL: The referee in the Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker match didn't know the end result. We can confirm that Chad Patton was actually informed ahead of the match that The Undertaker would win, but complied with the rule given to all WWE referees. That rules is that if a wrestler does not kick out, you go ahead and finish with the three count as if it were exactly what was planned.
We can also report that Lesnar privately whispered "thank you" to The Undertaker immediately following the three count to express his gratitude for the honor of breaking the streak. Lesnar and Heyman also went with Vince McMahon to the hospital with 'Taker. We're told Vince was inside the ambulance while Lesnar and Heyman jumped in a vehicle and followed them to the hospital.
It being Brock Lesnar still makes no god damn sense. I don't care if it was Taker's decision or not.
But thats just what doesnt make sense. Taker was a leader in the locker room. Why would he give it to Brock, instead of give it to some younger talent the company has faith in, the ultimate push / the ultimate perma-heel?
Its just incomprehensible. I'd say its about 25% of the streak being broken, and 75% being "why brock"?
Tbh they didn't really give the streak to Brock, they gave it to Heyman. If a new guy ended I breaking the streak, it would probably overshadow whatever happened in the rest of his career. Brock can take the heat of being that guy, while Paul Heyman gets a notch in his belt for when he's out there pushing newer talent (Cesaro being managed by Heyman means alot more now then it did a week ago).
Also that story is BS because you can definitely see refs hesitate on some pins when the person doesn't kick out fast enough. Happened a couple weeks ago with Batista. People are just looking into the situation way too much.
Still don't like it because it went to a part-timer. It's really no different than Rock beating Punk and holding the belt for 3 months and doing shit with it. On the rare occasion Brock shows up after this, it'll just be a talking point before he goes on doing something stupid again like hurting a fan or legit injuring a wrestler.
I donno.. before Lesner left for UFC, he was pretty big in the WWE. He really should stick around this time.
Doesn't change the fact that he's a part timer lol.
Not more part time than the Undertaker
Calling 49 year old Mark Calaway a part timer, someone who has spent 20 years in the WWE (1990 till 2010 before he became WM only), I dont think anyone has a problem with the fact that the past 4 years he was just for WM, because every WM he put on a WM main event worthy match.
Compared to 2000-2004 brock lesnar, who wrestled for 4 years, then vanished from WWE for 8 (with a really fucking shitty match for his departure) years, only to come back as a part timer, at the old age of 36.
really, apples and fucking oranges. No, not even close, you're comparing apples to dinosaurs here.
Can bitch about it all we want, but it really seems like Taker chose Brock to do this. From what I've read he's promised to use this to put over some new people over the years so lets see how things play out.
Supposedly also after the match Brock and Heyman followed them to the hospital to make sure he was ok after the match.
Shawn Merriman to sign with WWE first as interviewer and to work his way to wrestler. Sting has not signed yet.
Oh how the mighty have fallen.
I'm liking this tourney for #1 contender for the intercontinental title. It's reminiscent of the 90's and brings prestige back to the title as a stepping stone to main eventer status.
EDIT: This Paige bitch needs a tan.
WWE achieved their objective lol. I get pissed off with Paul Heyman talking about breaking the streak.
