Right to Censor was great; I loved their entrance theme of alarms and buzzers. I feel like Sandow needs to take a lesson from them and police everyone, not just the token faces and babyfaces.
Don't forget NWO(Black/White and Red), and Nash and Hall as the Outsiders too! I was much more into WCW when it was competing with WWE, along with most everyone else really. Talking about it now, The Outsiders vs APA would have been an incredible match up too. Four of some of the best big men in the business that could actually wrestle tag team matches? Shit would be amazing.
So if any of you follow Kevin Nash, in his eyes wrestling died at the end of wrestlmania 20 when Eddie Guerro and Chris Benoit ended the show as champions. According to him if your a small guy like Benoit, Guerro, Punk, Bryan, etc your not heavyweight champion material.
I hadn't heard that before, but at the time he was actually pushed and wrestling in his prime, it was true, it would have been unheard of for guys that small to have been heavyweight champs at the time. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's past that and we do have guys like that holding the belts, but I can see where he's coming from.
But its still a stupid comment to make. Wrestling evolved, it didn't die. He's just mad that if he were in his 20s today he may not have gotten as big as he did back then because your size isn't everything. He's a good talker and everything, but there are far better entertainers out there who don't just rely on their size.
There's been quite a few smaller wrestlers who have won the title. Flair, Bret Hart, Bob Backlund, etc etc. I think even Ted Dibiase was NWA champ at one point but I may be mistaken. It was incredibly retarded of nash to say something like that, especially he being of the guy who tore his quad entering a ring and participant of what may have been the most boring brawl ever with HHH a few years ago. But then again he does have a reputation as someone who held a lot of people back to protect himself.
Flair, Ted Sr.(if he won it, dunno), and Bret Hart in comparison to CM Punk, Bryan, Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit were actually fairly large guys. Not like Nash huge, but they certainly weren't small. HBK was probably the smallest person to hold the belt before Eddie. I'm not disagreeing that it's a dumb statement to have made, just understood why he would make it. I think it's fantastic seeing the smaller guys with it, especially when Eddie won it, he went on to have an amazing feud with JBL afterwards too. And yeah, it's no secret Nash was looking out for number one, he's never really hid that fact either, shit in TNA his whole deal was that he was there for money and fuck everyone else.
Also did anyone else catch Jericho call Alex Riley "Alex Wright" during his match with Ziggler? Got a good laugh out of that, they actually look surprisingly similar too.
Punk, Flair, Bret, HBK are all the same height. Eddie, Benoit, Bryan are about 4 inches shorter. Regardless of that, they all fall pretty much into the same group though, on the smaller side.
I guess I remember them being larger then they actually are, didn't know Punk was actually that big either. Either way, I'm glad it's not just the big men getting the belts, and totally agree with it being a dumb comment on Nash's part. Eddie was/is in my, as Booker T would call it, Fave Five so I just can't see how him winning the belt did anything but help the business.
People shouldn't pay attention to Nash, hes just a troll. For him to talk shit about Eddie or Benoit in any bad way is just his attempt to stay relevant. Lets look at Nash's last big match.
Don't believe the hype.
Another thing is something for the people who don't understand why Cena Haters hate Cena.
#1 Cena cant wrestle.
This past monday night he "sold" a move too early which could have ended badly for D-Bry.
video
alsull general funniness.
Cena can't wrestle? When has he ever touted himself as more the technical type? Guy's pretty much a brawler with some crazy strength, which I guess is okay to like for other people not Cena.
Otherwise, botches happen. I like Bryan, but would like him more if they took him off the heel schtick. Top rope shit can be dangerous land or miss, and he's the one choosing to headbutts instead of elbows or leg drops. And in this case, if you wanted to get anal from a showman's perspective, someone could say Cena tried to move out of the way, but just didn't have the gas or see it coming quickly enough. There are definitely worse botches that go on in the WWE to ridicule.
I caught that, and did anyone else catch how big Jericho has gotten since coming back? He was busting out of that little man-shirt, and he got all his veins back. Dude will never have those big pecs that stand up and push you over, but I'm impressed at how much meat he's chiseled up over the months. He certainly doesn't look like he's ready to retire, even if he's propping up the young talent at this point.
Jericho is over 40 yrs old
Its hard to maintain physique at that age
Ehh Jericho really isn't retiring. Just his two loves have flip flopped. Fozzy is now his big thing and he's got enough clout within WWE that he can come and go as needed. He's pretty much touring now through I believe the end of march, which means we will probably see him back around May or so. The fact he's helping build up the future now instead of in it for himself makes me respect him even more.
As for Cena yea Super Cena with his 5 moves of doom gets old, but he oozes Charisma, he sells merch like it's going out of style which is why they haven't flipped him back to being heel, and the guy is freakishly strong. I don't care that the AA is just a fireman's carry to a slam. Anyone who can do that on Show, Henry, Kane, etc is legit. I can't stand him as a face, but I loved him as a heel, especially when he was feuding with los guerreros.
See the merchandise sales meaning he can't go heel excuse is a load of crap. Know who has been selling more merchandise than Cena lately? CM Punk. The guy they just started to turn heel.
He was selling more than Cena when he turned face...a year ago. Have his sales been consistently higher than Cena's since then?
As of three months ago last I heard his sales were still higher than Cena's.
Several of the dirt sheets are reporting that WWE are considering dropping the Funkasaurus gimmick for Brodus Clay... He was never really gonna go anywhere with the gimmick as it stands, but how do you turn him "heel"?
Imo it would be stupid for him to drop it. When I originally saw him come out as the Funkasaurus back in like December or January I thought it was a huge joke and they were punishing the guy. As time went on though I honestly feel like he pulled it off. It makes him stand out compared to the standard generic wrestler. They don't need to have him joking around with Santino or Dancing in the ring with a bunch of little kids. I don't know if he is about to feud with Sandow or what but if he does I don't see them making him a Heel for that. I guess they could use the beat downs Sandow has been giving him as an excuse for a "fake injury" to put him out for a few and then come back as an angry monster heel but I dunno. I don't know if that would really work out for him long term.
