Several of the dirt sheets are reporting that WWE are considering dropping the Funkasaurus gimmick for Brodus Clay... He was never really gonna go anywhere with the gimmick as it stands, but how do you turn him "heel"?

It will eventually end, but not now. I can see him losing the feud to Sandow and then turning. Right now though he's the current Era 2 Cool w/ Rikishi. The kids love him, men get some eye candy when he comes out with his dancers, everyone's happy. But if he really wants to make money he'll probably need to do a whole gimmick change.

As of three months ago last I heard his sales were still higher than Cena's.

How much of those are from the little kids and all the women? That's Cena's big market (hence all the make a wish requets he does)

I hated the way they created the funkasaurus and the entire gimmick as is. I said this before, but they introduced him as a ginormous monster who raped face through FCW, brought him in as a ginormous monster who raped face, then kept him off TV for a bit, kept delaying his returns despite "brodus clay returns to raw next week" every week, and then he's barney the fucking dinosaur? give me a break.

I'd be glad to see the funkasaurus gig go, too. Then again, I've been critical of it since it come out. See: Earlier comments about PG-era Godfather/Ho Train.

As for merchandise sales, I wouldn't use that as a fullproof gauge of popularity, either. I like wrestling, but I would never buy the stuff. Why? Overpriced. By default, that kinda limits the kid demographic unless they're really get at having their parents buy them what they want. Either way, new blood/things having their surge in popularity over longer term guys shouldn't be surprising, either. Cena's been around for like a decade now. Aside from dropping the Eminem-wannabe act, he hasn't changed much. And that's okay. Get some people ping ponging around too much and you get shit like people yelling Albert to Tensai.

Given their age, seeing some kind of protoges for Undertaker/Kane wouldn't be a bad thing. Just something to sort of dabble in the fantasy element a bit.

Stick it up your candy ass != Rape, just in case someone wants to correlate. Lines like, "SUCK IT!" while we knew IT was, was still vague enough. Rock talking about pie was also basic innuendo. Sure, there's probably more to it than we've seen, but I won't miss AW and I doubt others will, either.

My main beef with what "managers" we have running right now is they're pretty much too involved. Ricardo's always getting into ADR's matches. Vicki does it on occasion, but is also deliberately grating elsewhere. Nobody wanted to hear AW babble shit during matches. Sakimoto, while largely silent, still gets involved, too. Which is okayish, as he's probably the tamest of the lot. And Heyman, while Brock's matches have been non-existent, is not someone I like seeing or hearing ever. So, yeah, GTFO there.

I can understand the concept of managers, but they almost seem unneeded with wrestling itself being scripted. "They're ringside, they're gonna get involved somehow..." gets old.

I think managers are fine and there probably hasn't been a manager in wrestling history that didn't get involved.

With AW I thought he was going to be different at first. It looked like he was building a stable (Which imo WWE needs right now) I remember seeing him back stage all the time giving his card to guys, watching matches checking guys out. For 2 or 3 weeks he was with Primo, Epico and Mason Ryan. After a while Ryan disapeared and he was just a basic manager of a tag team who already had Rosa. I remember him giving his card to Mark Henry and some other people though hoping they would join so I guess I was just hoping for some kind of stable.

ANYWAYS I won't miss him either. After seeing him go to just manage a Tag Team.. meh. Especially after seeing how immature he is tweeting and retweeting all this nonsense truth or not.
