It's still team friendship to me damnit. And Punk and Heyman have always been high on each other so no surprise they are working together. Anyone else for a moment almost wish it would be Punk/Foley in HIAC? Foley can't do much more now, but damn his hardcore match with Edge is still one of my favorites and that was after his retirement.

To be honest, I got a bit excited when I first imagined what great things could come of Hell in a Cell. Then I remembered that we are all watching PG WWE. Sadly, I think that there aren't going to be any more badass Hell in a Cell matches. Not like the legendary ones we all know and love. That first one, Shawn Michaels v Taker. Legendary. Triple H v Batista? So good. My personal favorite though, Triple H v Jericho. One of the best matches I have ever seen still. Triple H v Cactus Jack is of course always at the top of most people's HIAC list for good reason.

I am not saying that it won't be a good match. Cena v Orton was PG and it was alright, but it wasn't HIAC anymore to me. It was just a plain ol cage match. So yeah, I was pretty stoked last night thinking that Punk and Cena could really do something amazing, something new for both of them. Then I remembered where I was, more specifically what Era, and went back to just being happy that they decided to let A.J. wear shorts again.

Cage match/no holds barred with no blood = poor selling tactic

Taker/Mankind was the best HIAC of all time. The fact the top of the cell wasn't even suppose to break like that and Foley plunge thirty feet into the ring is so ridiculously epic.

I will admit, I haven't seen a lot of the more recent HIACs. That has me hopeful though! I am not one to really jump on that "FUCK PG ERA! WWE died in 2001 with the Attitude Era!" bandwagon. I clearly am still a fan, albeit of different things than I was back then. So if there is a chance that the Hell in a Cell PPV couold be just as amazing as some of the past HIAC matches... then I am all for it. I am just doubtful I suppose. Now I need to find that match and watch it Ty.

I won't say every HIAC match in recent years has been amazing, but the Taker/HHH one definitely was. I have some hope for the CM Punk one this year depending on who his opponent is. No idea how the Sheamus one will go down.

    My thoughts:

    1) Was funny to see The Miz talking all that good shit last week, only to get (understandably) bitched tonight.

    2) Would love to see a triple threat or a fatal 4-way (even though I know he's still not ready from his injury) between Tensai, Show, Funk and Henry.

    3) Loving what HHH is doing with the tagteam revival. Having the Prime Time Playaz (who have really gotten in shape and upped their game over the last year) watching Hell No's hilariously awesome match was great. I'm all about having a bunch of legitmate, evenly-matched tag-teams. I really hope that the era of jobbers vs. superstars is long gone.

    4) Enjoyed the Foley schpeal; Punk has great mic skills, and reminds me of mixing a wrestler with Eminem (specifically 8-Mile-Eminem), but the times where I enjoy Punk the most are when someone gives him a nugget of truth and really makes him stop and think. He's got a very good look when he's being introspective. Also, he's doing a pretty good job of being a heel, especially when he denied that little youngster a hi-five. I'd have tried to punch the guy if I was that little tyke's father, and that means that Punk is selling his shit very well.

    5) Loved the Ryback appearance at the end. Its obvious that HHH and Vince are having a bit of a tug-of-war in terms of control: Vince hates tag teams, but HHH wants them pushed, so they get pushed. Vince is huge on big guys like Ryback, and so Ryback is getting a rapid push. I have a feeling we'll be seeing Ryback having some massive influence on the big belt before Wrestlemania - possibly even before 2013.

I feel like Ryback is getting thrown into the mix as a backup plan incase John Cena isn't fully recovered by the time Hell In A Cell rolls around. Or perhaps they will go with a multi-person match in the cell so Cena can still "compete" but not have to carry the load.

Watched the 50 greatest finishers today. Was a pretty cool flick. Only thing I was disappointed with was Cena's getting rated so high (go figure) and the 619 even being on the list. Might as well have had Santino's Cobra on it...

Heyman, or another manager type would be perfect for a guy like Ryback and then he could get on pretty well. Ryback doesn't perceive to have mic skills so he could play the brute that just wrecks his competition.

Well for what its worth, back in high school, the stunner was the most mocked move in gym class/recess wrestling

    lol, seriously.

As for HIAC, one without blood simply doesn't feel like it's getting the point across. Also, the fact that they made it into a PPV is even worse (considering the entire PPV has 2 of these matches at best..) It takes the whole special feel out of it. Hell, even when HHH challenged Taker this past year, it still felt a bit special. I miss WWE letting feuds get so intense to the point where the GM has to come out and yell HELLLLLL IN A CELLLLLLLL. =/

I agree that HHH/Taker at Mania was good, but that was largely due to HBK's storytelling as guest ref. The last truly amazing HIAC match I love even to this day and can watch 20 times over is Jericho vs. HHH @ Judgement Day.
