Honestly surprised by Joe signing with WWE but HHH must have been pushing it hard to get it done when other reports have stated Vince isn't a fan of him at all
Vince, for everything he's done right, has not had the greatest eye for talent. Jim Ross pretty much had to beg and plead for them to hire Austin after he got let go from WCW and he spent some time in ECW. And even then, he only looked at Austin as someone who was there to make others look good and top out as an IC Champion.
Any ideas on where I could find all episodes of Monday Night Raw from 96, 97, etc?
If not on the network it would be difficult now as they regularly go after stuff like that and getting it taken down. Maybe you can find some stuff on Youtube but I'd be surprised.
Monday on Raw apparently is going be Rusev going against Curtis Axel. Not sure if the title is on the line but either way I'm predicting Cena screwing over Rusev to allow Axel the win and breaking the streak causing Rusev to want revenge and setting up their rematch for mania.
Oh and a whole bunch of developmental drama courtesy of Bill Demott and former developmental talents that didn't like his training style. None of them are employed any longer of course. Guys like Jericho and Doc Gallows have defended Demott so not sure if it's a case of guys not being able to cut it in WWE being pissy or not. The only one to say anything that has done anything beyond WWE so far is EC3 from TNA.
I find that Jericho doesn't blindly go defending the WWE so I'd take his word over a bunch of ex WWE guys.
If this isn't denial I don't know what is.According to F4WOnline.com, there is a backstage feeling among some people that Roman Reigns could come out the big babyface in his match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31.
The reactions for Reigns have gotten better since the Royal Rumble PPV, but that could change depending on the amount of “smart wrestling” fans, comprised mostly of the IWC, are present for WrestleMania 31 in Santa Clara.
I don't know, Jericho strikes me as an old-school dungeon guy. Foley talks about in his first book how cruel and mean some of the trainers in the past were, how they would intentionally try to hurt people to weed out those who couldn't "cut" it. I don't see it as him saying DeMott is clean but rather him saying "Yeah, and I had it worse than being called a pussy faggot bitch so suck it up, buttercup."
Fuck, JBL thinks sodomizing people with soap constitutes a rib for fuck's sake.
Double, but about that tweet from Jericho:
- It's worth noting that Chris Jericho deleted his tweet in defense of Bill DeMott today. As noted, Jericho wrote the following last night in defense of the NXT trainer:
"Hey @BillDeMott is a good friend & great trainer. If u can’t handle it then quit. My training at #HartBrothers camp was 10,000 times worse!"
We must be thinking about different Jerichos then. When the CM Punk interview hit he was quick to defend WWE and even had Ryback on to help defend them. I like him as a wrestler, but the more I listen to his podcast, the more I realize that everything is about him. Nothing wrong with that, but his word shouldn't always be taken for the truth, especially when multiple other sources are saying otherwise (in the Bill DeMott case).
Edit: In addition to the above post (Jericho deleting his tweet defending DeMott), he retweeted a tweet AGAINST DeMott. Makes it seem like WWE might do something about DeMott and Jericho wants to be on the "winning" side.
Just watched NXT from last night, lol @ "Better then Reigns" chant after Charlotte speared Sasha.
Reminds me of last year with the "Better then Batista" chants last year after Emma powerbombed Paige
Reigns actually doesn't have a bad spear so that's not something I'd knock him on.
Reigns honestly I think has one of the better spears since Goldberg. His at least looks like it hurt. I was never a fan of Edge's due to his size, and god, big show should never do a spear again.
Lashley does a fantastic spear.
Goldberg is the model most people use, but his spear was never exactly safe (like anything else he did) since he was usually legitimately hitting the person hard as fuck.
Reigns spear isn't awful, but unless it's one of the two I just mentioned or Rhino's Gore it never really feels like a move that should put someone down for a 3 count. Suspension of disbelief etc, but so often the move just looks like a running hug.
We talking Rhynos gore pre or post injury? maybe i remember it with rose tinted glasses but i used to love the shit out of the gore with Heyman "GORE!GORE!GORE!". Friend of mine also did something stupid and gored his brother through part of his bedroom window lucky it was on ground floor and only one part of the window got broke since its quite big.
In retrospect, considering all of his neck injuries, Edge probably shouldn't have been using a spear as his finish.
Same with Benoit and the flying headbutt use to think wtf you doing that for when you broke your neck.
No surprise when it was discovered Benoit's brain was the equivalent of an 80 year old with Alzheimer.
